The women's world cup is ruining the the few positives to come out of VAR over the last year or so. The referees have no bottle whatsoever and are using it as a safety net.

The thing is with the Men's World Cup is they got lucky that they didn't get any of the area's where VAR struggles. All they really got was the clear cut, slightly quicker decisions. It was always obvious it was going to be a mess as we have seen in most of the other uses of it so far. It's just not the right tech for Football, its a tech that works out well for play based sports where decisions are pretty much black or white

First we see Leuko the Cameroon player openly catch Nikita Parris in the face only a yellow no VAR, then another indecent where a Cameroon player spits on an England forward no action from the referee or VAR, Cameroon should be down to 9 women, no point in having VAR if the officials don't use it.

I also think having watched it in the Women’s World Cup, think it should be abandoned until they can get it right. It is taking the joy out of scoring a goal, and I think it alters the game completely. What is the point of having a ref and Lino? Last night both the ref and Lino missed the offside, but who can blame them it was literally inches. The research says you will always have errors on close decision as it is physically impossible to look at two places at once. The question is now, do we go completely computer/VAR or stay with our current system with very strict rules on what could be looked at on the computer? Relying on VAR is obviously influencing how the refs and lino operate.

Another balls up by VAR today. Never hand ball in a million years. Ruining the game. Just a chance for a third party to get it wrong.

Without VAR, we wondered if a few referees and commentators were stupid. With VAR, we now have proof that some are.

Didn't like it after the World Cup. Hate it after one week of Premier League. Wolves were robbed. Fans are complaining about stoppage times killing atmosphere. Players and fans stop celebrating until decisions are reached - yet still sometimes wrong. It will come our way of we do nothing. Quite happy to boycott a game or stage other protest to get rid. Which week are fans going to choose to protest? Money, money, money is what it is all about. It's ruining the game.

Hate VAR with a passion. Was it referred to 9 times during the Man City game last weekend?, its a farce, and should be binned immediately.

Although, I didnt approve of the review system when introduced to Cricket, at least Cricket is a game, where stopping for a review doesnt spoil the continuity of a game. As for football, no thanks

Actually having been there I've mixed feelings, it does help that after the decision, they replay the incident on the big screens. Of course a couple of the smaller PL teams don't currently have big screens, but I'm sure they'll eventually catch up.

The older more traditional grounds don't have anywhere that they can put screens. At Old Trafford, for example, it would totally block the view of thousands of fans and cause partial obstructions for many others.

And really you need two of them on opposite sides anyway so everyone can see them so even if they manage to work out the logistics of expanding the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand (It been something the club have wanted to do but the railway behind it and houses beyond that its complicated) it would mean anyone in that stand would struggle to see it

I don't know. It was pretty harsh to the point it wouldn't have been a penalty if it was Leicester player that the ball was headed onto the arm. He didn't move his arm to it, his arm wasn't really in an unnatural position and he had no time to react

Another decision in the Man City V Spurs game.

We weren't asking for VAR so that we could disallow goals where a ball brushes an arm in a natural position which leads to a goal.

    Ridiculous.

The way some of these rules are being implemented and interpreted is wrong.

VAR is for reversing obvious mistakes not becoming the centre of attention and disallowing goals where there's pretty much nothing wrong.

if that ball took no deviation from Laporte's arm on its way through, how could it meet the criteria of :creating or scoring" a goal? Maybe next season they will rewrite that rule too. I get that they don't want goals being scored by "accidental" handball but this is silly. It should definitely be rewritten to allow a ball hitting a player off a defender (Wolves last week) and consideration given to this.

oh, and what about the grab on Laporte's hnd immediately before it? Would have been interesting had the ref awarded a penalty for the clear and obvious pull.

tired now but I think I saw a goal ruled out against you yesterday. Is it a conflicted feeling when it happens in your favour?

Another week on and I notice some of the pundits are not defending VAR any more and some that are only do so half-heartedly. It will be interesting when somebody breaks a leg after the linesman does not flag immediately for a clear offside.
