Mixed messages. Is it a long term plan or not?
They had a manager that showed he could “improve each individual player” but they fired him for dropping 3 league positions in fecking January!rmbenson007, Shipley69, Yorkieman and 4 others like this. -
They had exactly what they claim to be looking for, but fired him for dropping 3 league positions. Where are these lessons they’re learned? Are the lessons they’re claiming to have learned “feck the English way, managers don’t work, we want head coach German model” because they haven’t learned much at all if it is.

Get 5 or 6 good youngsters in the team who will develop over 4 or 5 years.

That statement does not fill me with confidence at all, we are going nowhere with these in charge. Everything is being done on the cheap and penny pinching. We are going to be a feeder club, develop young cheap players and hopefully sell them on, Crewe style, all while the chairman line their pockets with the profits. Apart from purchasing the club they will not invest any more of their own money into the club but yet they cannot understand why season tickets sales are down.
Rahic and his wife are reported to be taking a combined £200000 salary so Long term period is fine, sit back Rahic and enjoy raping the club.Bantam75, rmbenson007, Goose and 4 others like this. -

I’ll accept a long term plan but why the hell could that not have been under Mr Bradford City himself Stuart MCCall

For me it is the way to go. Sponsor the development team, get further investment to fund this venture. Great advertising, supporting healthy young footballers, what’s not to like? A gym chain? One of those companies who promote healthy eating? Anything along those lines would good. Let’s promote ourselves and get companies interested. They could have photos and videos promoting their products and incorporating the young tea, this is the time to do it with the World Cup coming up when ppl are interested in football, what about foreign investors.

I don't really have a problem with them having a philosophy and a plan in place for constant development and investing in youth. The problem is only one of them so far (Robinson) has looked half decent.
I don't see this philosophy ever getting us promoted from League 1 unfortunately.rmbenson007, bantam2708, Farsley XI and 3 others like this. -

We’re in league 1 - we can’t afford a development squad and too notch youth set up and stay competitive - that’s why no bastard other club does it. Why they feel we can I’ve no idea.Bantam75, rmbenson007, The Evidence and 3 others like this. -

Well this head coach idea has been a disaster for Huddersfield hasn't it. Just think if we had picked up a German reserve team coach who was a friend of Jurgen Klopp and then called him head coach, the meltdown on here would blow up this site. Still as Huddersfield pick up another 100 million for another season in premier league I imagine they'll see the error of their ways and listen to the pitchfork brigade on here and change their rediculous idea.

“At first I thought maybe this is the best moment to say: ‘Thank you very much, always when we see each other in our lives, we will celebrate together,’” he said before explaining why that thought did not last. “I always had the feeling in the last 18 months that I had an owner on my side that I really trust. He really wants to keep me at this club. I don’t have to play a role here. I can be exactly the man I am as a person and a manager.
“I think we have one of the best owners in British football, a local man and fan who supports you with everything he’s able to do. This is not something you should leave only because you have a better financial offer. And I like the people here, I like my team. I am such a happy man because I have a new challenge and still the same people around me. Nothing is better than that.”

If they'd told us this from the start and cut out all the three year plan (aspiration! ) crap, backing the manager bollocks etc, most of us would have been onside. -

Seriously though, it reads that they have completely stepped away from the 3 year plan. They recognise that it is unrealistic.
If their long-term plan is to be successful, and to have any credibility, I think we need to see some younger players playing decent football next season. If the outcome of this summer is a journeyman manager, who did a good PowerPoint on the day, playing a version of hoof with a ragtag selection of loans and the current squad cobbled together through August, we will have lost another year.
A Head Coach that brings in different ideas, supported by a recruitment that gives us balance in the squad e.g. wide players, a second right footed centre-half then the vision is at least being backed up. A decent pitch to play on, and we might start to make progress again after the debacle of the second half of last season.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... I just want things to be a bit clearer - as @JonButterfield said yesterday - if we're going to settle for a period of consolidation, and anything more is a bonus then let us know, and probably more importantly, let any prospective manager know this.
it's no good saying all this, on the same day that Simon Grayson has decided to leave because they expect him to deliver a promotion while providing a consolidation and introduce young players budget and philosophy.
this is after they told us last week lessons have been learned, what lessons? I would have hoped it would have been to do with not expecting promotion on low budgets, and not sacking managers at the first sign of a rocky patch when over performing but it wouldn't seem that way on the face of it.Morley Bantam, River_City_Bantam, The Evidence and 3 others like this.
