No me neither! Nothing for years then 18 months of failure because of ER and suddenly we lack ambition.

ML and JR. Overspend on the budget to put as much into the playing budget then recoup the loss through cups run. That is definitely a plan.

You’re right, that was the plan. High risk and limited in terms of sustainability, but that was the plan.

But the average City fan are impoverished and will need to choose between spending £250 and no longer being able to afford to attend

Football in general is not a long term sustainable sport. Name half a dozen clubs that operate in the profit whilst providing a level of success.

You’re ignoring the facts. The football club is a business. Why on earth would they be happy to take in less revenue if they actually have a chance to increase it.

I’m sure there is more to it than putting s finger in the air and plucking out a £149 figure. If the club believe we could earn more budget selling tickets at £200, why wouldn’t they? The more revenue raised, the less the club have to generate themselves. Somebody has done their sums rather than spit their dummy out and demand the prices are increased...!

Come on man, you’re clutching now. Broken up in a few weeks? Wyke left nearly 12mths after the rest of the names you quoted.

And to confirm, McCall released Darby and said he wasn’t in his plans. He wasn’t getting played.
Hiwula wasn’t our player and only came to us on loan. We enquired after him and was told we would have to pay the full salary and McCall states he believed he could get better quality for that money.

Marshall had made it clear he wanted to move back down South. We allegedly offered him the most money we had ever offered in L1. But he wanted to move closer to his family. McArdle was offered a good deal but he was offered a 3yr deal elsewhere. You’d prefer us to have done that and been stuck with a player who hasn’t been good enough over the last 2yrs, let alone a 3rd contract

We are going full circle again. You started by accusing fans of accepting mediocrity, but the vast number would be happy with an increase at the appropriate time. The majority agree with you. How does that make us happy with mediocrity?

The problem with doing it now is that fans have just seen us spunk a fortune on the likes of Riley, Patrick and Wright and for relegated. We’re cautious to pay more until a bit of trust has been restored. I’d argue that is the opposite of accepting mediocrity

Not read the whole thread but on page 1 (Faithful bantam?) suggested a 200 quid price if we go up next season. Maybe if that happens, a 100 quid rise to 249 would not be seen as too much given the euphoria that promotion would bring. Even at 249 in L1 they represent something of a bargain. All moot though if we don't go up next season.
