Money is tight and we are obviously operating within our budget.
Ask yourself this McCall says he want two or three more squad additions.
He must know what funds are available otherwise he wouldn't have come out publicly with that statement.
Don't expect any mercenary signings it's not viable regardless of fans clambering for big names to join Bradford it simply won't happen.

How do you know Sutton is no better than Devine, have you actually seen him play and if so how would you remember, i have trouble remembering our players performances, other than Akpan was total rubbish most weeks and crap the rest. Lets actually see the lad play before we write him off, Arron Mclean and John MCginley both cost big money and had bigger reputations, both were dross after pulling on the city shirt.

 

No, as I say it was a manager who had heard our name mentioned but dont expect we know anymore now unless the club itself comes out and confirms an interest or a signing - I will keep my ear to the ground down here

Fordy had probably never heard of Levi Sutton, like most of us, before we signed him. So he has no idea whether he is any better than Devine or not

The most important point about Sutton, is that Stuart and Kenny Black , have seen the lad play and must have seen enough to justify his signing. I would trust there judgement on player recruitment , over any fan, no matter how ubber , that fan is.

An old poster on here who's name escapes me always preached about a book explaining how the formations changed from being more forwards than defenders to what we have now, inverting the pyramid. Its a good read but lost me at times

Sutton was sent off 2/3 times in the 18 games he played, im sure if scunny wanted him they'd have kept him even for any resale value

Watt could be anything to be fair, decent pedigree but is own admission was he didnt pull up trees at carlisle

Donnell has been part of a terrible defence (which we still have 4 of the same 5 now) for 2 years now, and is still susceptible to more than the odd soft goal

Clarke was shot the last time he was here, bereft of confidence and hasnt really sparked anywhere in the last 3 years.

Cooke, how many games last year can you count where you can say this guy is impressive and he really stood out?

The majority of vaughans goals last year were penalties, i cant say he looked like one of the "best goalscorers in the league" albeit i'll give you that he was woefully isolated.

I really hope you are right park, honestly i do, but to me this seems like a bit of a "tide us over" until next year side on the cheap as opposed to intending to get out of the division

Watt impressed all at Carlisle during his loan spell, so dont know what you mean
Clark impressed Ian Holloway enough to want to keep him at Grimsby, and I believe the fans were happy with him too
O'Donnell is fine, no issues there at all
Cooke was arguably our best player in the first few months of last season, until Bowyer decided to switch him to a more deeper role, then of course his injury

 

I don't know where Dratsab has heard Watt say he didn't pull up any trees at Carlisle but if he did, good on him. He scored once and had five assists from 12 games and if he doesn't think that's good enough and he needs to improve, that's exactly the kind of player we need.

 

I think of our signings so far Watt and Cooke look the pick but still to me means we are short of one hard man in midfield to give us some steel to supply two ball players.
We have no real wingers. Plan B looks none existent if we get bogged down in the middle.
The same back 2 CB’s as last year who as the season went on got worse. Maybe other clubs had them watched?

strikers who aside from vauaghn don’t look much cop and are all similar style. No pace for that bit of something different.

I’d say we need 5 or 6 in but McCall doesn’t agree. I think we will be easy on the eye but with very little cutting edge. Much like McCall’s first stint here. Hope I’m wrong

 

Ben Foster was part of a Watford team which went down so I’m never a fan of thinking a player must be poor if part of a poor team
