If only we had a board with any AMBITION!!! Honestly it boils my piss! We're destined for this L2 shit for years to come boys so get comfy! We have a glaring opportunity, in a buyers market, hundreds of players out of contract, and a window prior to a salary cap, whereby we can sign quality players that will only count minimaly towards the total bill! Yet we do nothing for a week and other teams around us hoover up the quality. Honestly its like we're weeks behind everyone else off the mark! We are destined for mid table at best. Wouldnt suprise me to see Harrogate pass us by

 

While Rhodes remains CEO of this club it has no chance.

Swindon pulled our pants down with Doyle and it we will get done over with Vaughan.

Barring one person on here we all know Vaughan will be leaving this transfer window.

 

I think we are equally able to pay his wages as any other team in league two apart from Salford and possibly Bolton McCall was very Emphatic on the fans forum and he was backed from above I am confident that if he moves it won’t be on the cheap

Who’s hovering in the players and who have signed more than our 6 bear in mind whilst contracted players are only counted at salary cap levels they still counted against the cap

 

The only advantage to getting in before the salary cap is if we intend to spend way over that cap.

I also have a bit of faith that if Vaughan does go we will get a decent fee for him - I only say this as after the Doyle situation last season the club would be seen to be 'shooting itself in the foot' if they repeat that *@?$ up. Stuart himself is on record at the video conf last week saying as much - wont look good if he then 1) leaves for next to nothing and 2) an adequate replacement isnt already being lined up. I am keeping the faith (for now )

 

By the way, Borehamwood isn't exactly close, and no players are ever going to relocate remember....

Non league is way more attractive, somehow, with the impending salary cap.

 

Come on Park, Mansfield, Salford, Bolton and Tranmere have all signed players of the quality to make a real difference to their respective squads, and to give them the best chance of getting promoted. If you think the signings of Sutton and Mottley-Henry are comparable to the signings they have made then youre simply blinkered im afraid. All of those teams will finish above us. Salford alone with Peter Clarke, Ian Henderson... that's the quality you need to get out of this league. We'll tread water.

 

The owner has no ambition bar getting as much money as he can back of his original investment. The clubs running is solely in the hands of Julian Rhodes, the whole strategy, whatever that is, is his and his alone. To be fair to him, he didn't have to come back to help the hapless Rupp, but Rupp knows diddly squat about any aspect of football and turned to the only person he knew who could help. This club is desperate for someone to point it in the right direction, as it is we have an owner and CEO of who neither really want to be here. Until that changes we're meerly treading water.

Agreed. But those teams who genuinely want to get promoted are seemingly doing just that!

Mansfield have financed their buys by selling their best player and Tranmere have added one player to their ten contracted players . Sutton is a good signing as is Elliot as is Cooke as is O’Donnell and so is Clarke and we have two or three to come we are doing more than most in this league. We still have Vaughan one of the best scorers in the league

Sutton is no better than Devine.
Clarke is as slow as a CARAVAN.
Watt is decent hopefully.
