    Imagine if we signed a player that had played the previous season for a team that had finished next to bottom in League Two.

    And imagine he was a striker who had scored 3 goals in 22 matches for that Club.

    Imagine the meltdown on here.

    Of course, back in 1980 we did just that. His name: Bobby Campbell.

    We had three. Payne, Ball and Colville, with Colville comfortably having the highest strike rate, measured by time on the pitch. We should have played him more. Goals from midfield were not the problem for these three. The problem was arguably everyone else in the team not getting a decent quota for their position apart from A. O'Connor.

    Not a rumour but Jordan Archer released by Millwall very good keeper and we defo need one also Sid nelson released but he’s a dirty sod .

    At this moment in time, I’d argue EVERY league2 side, seen as he’s out of contract and not yet signed for one

    TBF, he was only 22yrs old when he joined us and he actually joined us from the NSL where he scored 1in2.

    But none of which really are midfielders, certainly not central midfielders in any case. Colville is a winger by trade or an attacking midfielder. Both Ball and Payne are attacking midfielders or second strikers. Not really playing in the same role.

    Just been reading a League 2 football forum, most are saying that Mark Cullen would be a very good player at this level if his injuries have settled down.
