To be honest I cannot recall. However the fact that the information was ‘out there’, stuck with me. If not on here perhaps it was on WOAP? But what l understood, was similar to what was posted in this thread.

I was told the deal we offered Ball in Jan, against what he wanted, was “miles apart” so was dead in the water even if did agree a fee

And this is the wonderful world of football through supporters eyes. ;)
Locals (here) say City were prepared to take over his contract, but not pay a fee.
I guess unless anything comes out from the Club, or player, we'll just have to live in ignorant bliss. :)

This is the thing, there is a massive difference between overspend and debt in my view. Are we short of cash? No. Did we overspend? Yes.

Far too much impetus has been put on this overspend. Of course we’re cutting our cloth accordingly, this happens to the best of clubs - but we’re far from skint.

We have a far better opportunity to bounce back to L1 under Rupp, than ML and JR.

How can you say we aren't skint when Bowyers worried about competing against Flyde?

Interesting is this angle of being 'skint'. ;)

If I can dine out twice a week, I consider myself 'loaded', whereas my Southern based mate is 'skint', if he can't !
Looking at it pragmatically ....... I try to view it as I would say needing a new fridge/freezer - Explaining that money will be 'tight' for a while. Whilst I budget for most things ...... Domestic Bills, Insurances, Car expenditure, etc - Sometimes, things out of the ordinary can catch you out.
This is almost such a case at City, thanks to poor spending, and the resultant relegation it brought as a consequence.

So yes, money is going to be 'tight', for a while. :)

That may be correct, the thing I would add is Mark & Julian saw each other several times a week and I assumed spoke about ongoing things at the club, where as Rupp left the club to be run by Rahic, let's hope Rupp wants a return on his investment and the only way to do that is by having a sucsessful football club, let's hope his deeds are as good as his words.

I have thought about it, and what’s not to like? Past his good days, he’s 27! **so funny

A 27 year old, physical midfielder who actually scores - even at the level above - what’s not to like?

Hopefully, following his reported visit to the UK, this week - The waters maybe a little clearer, whilst dispelling a few rumours in the process. On the other hand ........... Perhaps the waters may become increasingly cloudier !
Time will tell. I'm happy to go with whatever transpires, so long as it benefits BCAFC. :)

    Easy, really.
Initially joining Rochdale on loan in July 2017, signing permanently in July 2018 - Inman has appeared just 41 times (25 as a substitute) in that period (league matches), scoring 8 (yes EIGHT) goals.

He may be only 27, yet his recent stats suggest he's either been unlucky with injuries, or he wasn't able to step up, when required.
You ask me "what's not to like" :@/ ............. Plenty. We want and need better.

We need players good enough to finish seventh.

We don't need players who are out of this world for League 2.

I don't understand why so many players are considered not good enough.

The amount of names that have been mentioned and people saying "we need better" leads me to believe they don't understand we're a skint league two club. Inman and Cullen is about as good a player as we're going to attract.

People are falling into the trap of we need big names again already, I made a post a few weeks ago warning against it. What we need is an identity, a way of playing and the players to play that way who might not actually be the best on paper we can get.

Luton been a prime example, when the got promoted from League 2 how many people would have honestly said they knew most of Luton’s squad? I only really knew Danny Hilton I’d have said he’s their best player. Suddenly he’s dropped for a journey man who’s had more clubs than tiger woods at the age of 28, who’s that? It’s this seasons top scorer James Collins. Let’s be honest Sunderland and Barnsley have far higher wage bills and better individuals but who won the league? In fact if we had the 4th highest budget we might have had a higher budget, let that sink in. I’ll back whoever Bowyer brings in, as long as he’s following his plan of how he wants us to play to get us potentially promoted.

I think you missed my point, Jon.

Inman has only made 41 appearances in the last two seasons. You're correct, we don't require 'world beaters', however we do require fit battlers, up to the fore coming task of escaping Lge 2. :)

At 27, any player should be at his peak, and pushing to retain that for at least four more years. Such players are not released, they are sold. We maybe league 2, but we should be league 1 thinking.

Well now you seem to know a lot; nice footwork btw on the difference between debt and overspend!!

From what you have said I am assuming that Stefan was ignorant of this overspending? Nevertheless he will write the cheques to cover the overspending? At no point can this be classes as debt, as everything will be paid? Since we went through a couple of managers and presumably have paid up there contract? Not entirely sure where the rest of this overspending has come from? Unless the budget initially was too small? As if the budget was higher we wouldn’t be talking about overspend.

You discuss cutting your cloth accordingly, I am not sure what that means in terms of a football team that has just been relegated. How on earth do we do that? I have not read anything from the club that sets out the plans for this season or beyond. Or are we to understand that the plans will be determined by the budget that is set by Stefan?

Hopefully you can enlighten me, I don’t want to get confused again by the difference between overspending and debt.

So, a midfielder who frequently scores in the league above is not good enough for L2.

I admire the level of regard you hold for our club, but you must be in a wind-up.
