With two options already at right back, not a chance. We are a basement league football team with basement league monies

Striker, but McCartan has all those attributes you'd look for in a "get behind the line" pacey striker. Injured a lot this season but even when he was fit he barely got off the bench. Bowyer must not see something in him.

Think we will be close to, if not already at budget level. So might need to be one out one in unless Rupp gives GB a Christmas budget bonus. Just need to hope someone wants to take Anderson or Akpan types where it's clear they just aren't working as we'd hope, off our hands. Wouldn't be surprised if McCartan fancied the move too.

    McCartan? Pacey?

From what I've seen of him he isn't up to much and he certainly isn't quick either.

I wouldn't say McCartan is a get behind lines sort player at all...

Or i should say, was his first spell here. I remember he had a sharper turn on him, but of pace moving towards defenders compared to the others we had. Tbf since he came back, i don't think he's been too arsed to moved too much even when he came off the bench.

    You're not understanding though.

We don't need the kind of player you dream of!

How many times has it been posted that JV is spending too much time with his back to goal? Nahki Wells used to stretch teams so much in this division, albeit we'll never get a Nahki calibre of player but in the same mould will help.

Instead of ranting rubbish why don't you make a suggestion on what you think we need?

I think the difference is the likes of Pritchard, Connelly and Ismail started well but have lost form so I'm quite confident of them getting back on form. But with mellor/henley, both are poor and haven't played well at all this season so the chances of them coming good is slim.

What we need is cover for Donaldson who can hold the ball up and bring others in we got Donaldson to do that in the summer and he has done it well. But now we are back in the same situation as we have been for at least the last two years where we are having to play second penalty box strikers as targetmen

    Spot on.

We don't need to change the original game plan.

Even when they were on form they were hardly running riot. Will you happy with having Connelly, Pritchard and Ismail as our attacking options post January?

I'd like a left winger personally as Pritchard is better centrally. Then send oteh back and either recall doyle (won't happen) or spend that cash on a proper striker. Get devitt and donaldson back fit and I think that'll be good enough.

As some have said already, think it might be dependant on who we can offload first. Hope Patrick keeps scoring at Wrexham and they take him. Anderson, wow... if we can offload to another club him then there is a god! McCartan is a funny one. Clearly has what it takes at this level to score goals but either hes made of glass or GB doesn't actually rate him, hes hardly getting a look in! Decisions need to be made to stick or twist with him as hes a wasted wage if hes not going to get the minutes!

The other option is SR loosens the purse strings with the McBurnie money. If were around the play offs come January youd like to think he'd speculate.

For me an experienced striker to compliment what we have is paramount. Possibly even 2. If we choose not to recall Doyle, I'd like us to move for someone like Danny Hylton, proven at this level and not getting a sniff at Luton, again wed have to address our style of play and get the supply to strikers facing goal address of hell be as dangerous as a spam javelin!

In midfield, I think we should send one of the loanees back. Depending on how far Devitt is away from making a return, possibly Palmer. That changes should Anderson do one though.

At this level I think the goal keeper and defence areas are adequate enough. Out wide, midfield and upfront are the areas I'd address.

If possible my big change would be to send Oteh back and get Doyle back, then when injuries clear up I’m not to fussed about bringing more in except maybe a back for Donaldson.

Key is to use their brains, such as take the simple chances and don’t give away ridiculous penalties when on top. The big one is style of play the last few games, it can’t work without a target man, my big worry is we have to play like that due to the lack of quality when playing it out from the back. Which is why I’d bring Paudie in for Everton next game and try to play on the floor more.

I agree with you about playing it out from the back, but in my opinion it's the midfield that is at fault. The last home game there was 2 or 3 occasions when AOC ended up dribbling out of defence because there was just nothing happening in front of him. The only alternative was the hoofball. I don't know if its tactics or just a lack of nouse from our midfield
