Yes I know that. This is how I imagine we’ve been able to afford Donaldson and Vaughan. You do realise that as we purchase players, that original figure gets smaller?
What I’m trying to get across is, that due to our two excellent signings of Vaughan and Donaldson, coupled with a few others here and there, we’ve probably used up the majority of our budget, and can no longer afford players of a certain calibre and on a similar wage.

 

I’m going by what I’ve seen so far in pre season as the opening part says. I am not saying I want him to play there but if we play the front 3/midfield 5 when not in possession he looks to be moved out wide?

Can’t see with only one striker he plays down middle over Vaughan is what I mean

 

If we play a front 3 where else does he play?

I think we will go 3 central with McCarten or Gibson possibly been the furthest one forward. So that means we can’t play 2 up top every game.

I’d imagine he wants it that way to be flexible as it can be very attacking when needed but don’t expect it to be a Liverpool style front 3 where they all play as strikers

 

If we really wanted to invest in a player, Rupp will simply just get his cheque book out. All this talk of us being skint is so bleeding far-fetched.

Bowyer and club officials have cleverly come out and suggested that £2.6m is the playing budget. It’s smoke and mirrors and exactly the right approach to money grabbing agents/players. It’s something Parkinson was quite good at, too.

All I’m suggesting is that our playing budget will be higher than the £2.6m, and should we wish to open the cheque book, the funds are there.

We've only played 2 pre season games and in 1 of them we haven't played 3 up front.

Asking GB might be a better way. If you think Donaldon will play mostly up top I fear you might be as disappointed as me.

 

I would be satisfied if we brought Hippolyte in as a LW and concluded our business.

Personally though I would be looking to bin off O'Connor, Akpan and McCartan. No issues if they stay though.

 

We played 3 up against Brighouse. Trialist game but I imagine we would set up how we have in training and will continue to do so.

I think you're mistaken. In both (or even 3 if you count Brighouse) we've played the same system in all 4 halves. Even with changing personnel we've rigidly stuck to 433.
