No1 First priority is a tall commanding centre back who is not only good in the air but an organiser, Not easy to get but if there is money this is where a large chunk of it should go

 

Tom Eaves is just what we need, Good in the air, Leads the line well, gets his share of goals, Could probably go up a division in a decent team if we ever got there

 

I'll be interested to see if Hopkin can spot talent from the Scottish League.

The level must be pretty low at Scottish League One (Brunker-low?), but there's a 6'2 striker at Edinburgh City who has scored 20 goals in 24 games in all competitions.

Wonder if Blair Henderson, 24, might be worth considering.

 

Doesn’t seem 2 minutes since a lot of people were complaining that Payne was a “luxury player” who was no good for us, now people are worried about him possibly going.

 

He's our only ball carrier....

 

The thing that we'd lose is his work rate.

That's in line with what Hopkin is going to be asking of players, so to that extent he suits us.

 

Carbone was our best player by our country mile in the Premier League, and also the last player we needed in terms of survival.

 

Yeah, the reason I think both Payne and Ball will be useful is work rate. Nothing else.

Their creativity going forward has achieved very little - this team has rock bottom stats, worst in the division. Payne and Ball have great work rate, that's what is useful; going forward they have been below average in the grand scheme of things (looking at the division holistically), but with experienced, defensive-minded reinforcements, the hope is both start producing on above average terms.

It's easy to say Henry, Caddis and Jim's relevance is a myth; it isn't. The whole point is that lads like Ball and Payne benefit. But we still need superior forwards, or we're toast.

Payne and Ball won't save us.

 

Matty Kozsylo has looked useful each time i've seen him play, not seen that many times but he is a good runner with the ball and a grafter. It might be worth a punt using Jacob Hanson as part of the deal.

 

We concede and don't score enough goals.We have to get a quality centre back and someone up front who can score goals,be a threat in the air,and hold the ball up to create chances for Doyle.We have a proven goal scorer in Doyle but at the moment we're just not providing chances for him.If he starts scoring we have a chance of survival.

 

Got to disagree. I agree we haven't played to Doyle's strengths, but he's missed a hell of a lot of chances as well. Hopelessly out of form and doesn't really care. Bad combination for a team in our position.

 

Yes always a strange one to me, when fans were saying he has to be dropped as the formation doesn't suit him.
One of the few players in our squad who can play.

 

I have been disappointed with Doyle but the last few games he has done alot better, in the Oxford game he was tracking back covering postions can't remember him doing that before. As much as Kai isn't the best footballer Doyle looks a better player when he plays.

 

I dont think many strikers would score with the service they are getting. Even the best strikers look crap when confidnece is low and no service is coming in. We have no width at all. Letting a good centre back go was criminal too. Scanell appears to have a glass body and as for Jones nuff said.

Schhhhhhh who is that there down in the cave oh Reeves forgot about him.

 

His confidence looks shot.Some chances he's had could of been taken and no doubt would of been if all was well.I still think we need what I said and hope Doyle comes good.
