I'm not disagreeing, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Just pointing out it isn't a new thing, our fans are renowned for it, but I think most football fans will be tbh. He can't be any worse than Caddis or Wright in there, although I know that's not a glowing endorsement.

 

Oh, for sure. I think that it's just a footballing thing - not particular to our fans. Though I hope our recruitment policy is better than "is he better than Caddis or Wright in midfield?" SO many would fit into that category. I think Hopkin was paying too much respect to Leeds/P. O'Connor in putting him straight in, hence Caddis being played out of position.

Akpan has played better in recent weeks and when he's back to full fitness, I expect him to slot back in, but we're short in midfield with Reeves still out, and Wright, well...being Wright. Need competition for places, and a stronger bench, for sure.

 

Talking of Paul Taylor, he’s just had his contract cancelled at Doncaster by mutual consent....

 

You could take into account the fact that McCann knew him from Peterborough and signed him for Doncaster so he must have left an impression

 

I think i would take Paul Taylor. Work rate was top notch and he could shoot, i reckon he could replace Payne late on and cause havoc for the opposition. I don't know what happen whilst he was here but i didn't notice it on the field

 

Anderson played in 2 decent Peterborough sides over the last few seasons but suffered to season ending injuries and was sent out on loan to Doncaster this season and was playing well for the first 3 months but lost heart when other injured Donny players came back from injury and he was put on the bench. He's got a lot of league 1 experience for a 22 year old and can't be to bad if his ex manager wanted him on loan at the beginning of the season.

 

Perhaps - though if you look at a few different articles, he was clearly very highly thought of at the time - he'd just had a couple of injuries. I know a few of our players that were highly thought of and it just never really panned out that way. McCann obviously thought there was something there, took him to Doncaster, and didn't get out of him what he thought was there. The comments on his commitment is the worrying part.

I’m surprised Osman didn’t get a club a few years back. Obviously got paid too much and can afford to basically retire. Who was that Nigerian Everton forward who went to Sunderland? He can only be 30 at the most.

Will know its his last chance so hopefully will pull his socks up, as if he’s shite as he was at Doncaster we’ll let him go at the end of the season and he’ll be without a club.
