If people didn't keep spectacularly missing the point and failing to comprehend what I'm saying I wouldn't keep replying.

I haven't said it wasn't a goal at any point. Quite the opposite. Just that it was closer than originally thought and an understandable mistake.

 

It crossed the line officials bottled it we got 0 points move on to rochdale easy really.

 

It went in.
I don’t think people care about which frame it was over the line in or in fact in that particular frame it was the goalies gloves that we were mistaking for the ball etc.

All we care about is it went in and we should have had a point.

Iv'e just started reading this thread from page 15 and the amount of people who have continued to misunderstand your point is quite remarkable.

The ball was over the line Incase it hasn't been mentioned to you...

 

Officials are trained to get marginal offside decisions right and they do the majority of the time and are to be fair in the main exceptional at it these days.

Point being, they are trained to get the minute details right. We know they make mistakes and they should rightly be slammed for not getting this one right. It was clear as day and not up for debate.

I think it just comes down to a different definition of "clear as day". That's the only reason for the debate.

An inch over the line for a fraction of a second simply isn't clear as day to me. It being a foot over the line and being clawed back by the keeper as a lot of us originally thought definitely would have been though however on closer inspection that didn't happen.

Unless you're expecting perfection then some mistakes need slamming and some mistakes are understandable. It's the latter for me on this occasion.

Yes, the ball crossed the line but fact is the ref and lineman bottled it.

We move on to Rochdale and we take the frustration out on them.

With Oxford V Rovers if we can pick up 3 points then we drag Rochdale into the dog fight.

Not disputing that the ball went over the line and the wrong decision was made.

Can't agree that it was as clear as day though. As has already been mentioned, It was maybe a couple of centimetres over the line and for a split second at that. I can see why in real time the ref might think it was inconclusive and went the other way. Unfortunate for us yes, but it wasn't a farcical error as is being implied.

But on the plus side shows we can go to arguably the strongest team in the division away and they get a lucky win

It wasn't over the line. Sky Sports News did a goal line tech angle of the goal and the ball is not fully over. Been bugging me all day this as people have been moaning about this non stop and it wasn't fully over. If the full line is visible that does not mean the ball is fully over. Anyway goal line technology would have affirmed the officials decision so lets move on and stop crying about an injustice that never was.

It actually nearly goes over once gets fragged back but then the keepers body carries it over again, maybe they did a check of the first time it nearly goes over..

Their man deserved to be sent off. I have no issue there on the other thread. With the goal line incident the full ball wasn't over. They've done a replica goal line tech on SSN - what do you want me to say. It wasn't a goal, simple as that. It looks miles over on the basis that there is grass visible between the ball and the goal line but from above the whole of the ball will not have passed the goal line.
