Didn’t go to the match, but watched it on iFollow, no doubt in my mind it went over line I jumped up straight away. Funny that even the official Sunderland account on twitter is saying it was over the line. I have no idea what the argument is, it was over, doesn’t matter by how much, the rules say if the whole of the ball was over the line it was a goal, simples. If you cannot do the basics, them retire, because we the paying public demand that the officials do their job. If it is too hard then the EFL should help them with technology.

 

The Christmas spirit didnt last long.
The ball was over the line does it matter if it was a mm, an inch or a foot, it should have been the equiliser and the officials made the wrong call.

 

Officials are trained to get marginal offside decisions right and they do the majority of the time and are to be fair in the main exceptional at it these days.

Point being, they are trained to get the minute details right. We know they make mistakes and they should rightly be slammed for not getting this one right. It was clear as day and not up for debate.

Pressure should be put on the EFL to fund the technology at all league grounds, They have the money and it would help improve the standard of refereeing which can be quite woeful in some cases and bring more consistency in decision making

Many fans/pubs use a VPN to get a foreign IP. It was always going to be a sell-out/near sell-out as soon as our chairman set us a challenge for 40,000. We get bigger crowds every boxing day - it's a tradition.

It's a fantastic effort to get 45,000+ home & away fans into the ground nonetheless.
