Quite so Rod. Looking around I'm not sure what Donny have done exactly and it seems Salford have been quietish as have Stockport, noticed they brought Crankshaw back from loan which doesn't say a lot in my view. The big threat, at least on paper is Gillingham. I've said elsewhere they have spent big in January and now again but big pressure on Harris now with owners who are likely not to hang about if they don't start well.
Notts Co. have signed McGoldrick but not sure who else and Wrexham have done very little at all with PP losing out on Williams and being turned down by at least two others and now saying he is happy to wait. I feel the signs for Phil are not good, plus the Yanks have just invested £170 million in a F1 team. New toy!

There is no reason that this squad can't get in to the playoffs as they did last season. Hughes words about not having the players available to change to what he wanted doesn't look good for our recruitment team last season and the players they brought in. Most of the big contracts handed out didn't work with Hughes not trusting any of them to play them. If we fail this Hughes can't drop this excuse in as he is capable of liaising with the recruitment team to get him the players he wants.
If we don't get promoted this season we should be looking for a new manager.

The Wrexham Hollywood owners investment in the Alpine F1 team Is their names only. They have not put any money of their own into the consortium, yet still gain a 24% stake in the team.

Such is the power their names hold right now, they are only expected to generate revenue through documentary series and attendance at venues.

Very jealous that Wrexham have these owners.

I'm not so sure about that... Lewis played every match, Oliver only didn't play because Cook got 30 goals, Odusina is only 23 and on a 3 year contract so might still be one for the future - there's only Young who is a certified failure really, though there are people out there who seemed to think he was pele incarnate the more he didn't play

Not sure why WW seems so upright about these two owners? One of the best things that's come into lower league football for years. Means we will have a near sell out at home if marketed correctly and a guaranteed sell out at their place. Although it does remind me of remarks he made about Ian Evatt and look where he ended up....

As we all know to well big money budgets don't necessarily bring you success. You can bring in top class players but if the team doesn't gel your not getting promoted and also doesn't make for a good close knit dressing room where egos ruin team spirit. Last season just goes to show a hard working team with that little bit of quality pulling the strings in midfield can beat a team of fancy Dan's and I think Wrexham will be the ones every team will want to beat this season which will give us a break and hopefully our home form will improve.

Yes - its bizarre. Wrexhams benefit is also L2 benefit. More eyes on the league and better commercial opportunities.

I have absolutely nothing against the 2 boys at Wrexham - they arent a toy, you can really see they are passionate and want to make things work there. Makes things far more interesting.

This is a really strong league and like Darragh at Posh says - we are now L1 of old. L1 is 'baby Championship'. Sky have recognised this with their new EFL deal.

True - even Notts County may take some focus off us. They were getting 15-16k now and again last season. And you can throw in Gillingham, Stockport and Salford with their mega rich owners too.

Play offs? The aim has to be automatic.

The aim is promotion. Ideally automatic but however possible.

The £218m investment in CASH was for a 24% stake in the racing team. Reynolds contributed towards the sum. The Bournemouth Co owner is also an investor.

I hope we'll have more players getting into the box and trying to score rather than just hoping Cook will pull off a miracle. Pattinson definitely looked that kind of player for Harrogate. More people getting into the box should create more space on the edge for shooting chances for the likes of Walker and Smallwood. Last season we had too many players who wanted to be around the edge of the box waiting for a chance and we always got crowded out.

County average attendance 7.9k 22/23 season. Not bad and better than a lot of L2.

This is true but you have to start with your aims high and that’s going for automatic places.

It is Mark Hughes last chance to achieve anything in all his years as a manager. Lets hope he goes for it
