I’m afraid as long as we are in the lower reaches of the leagues we are going to loose our best players young or older but this is another example of why our investment which is going into our youth system and the good job they are doing is so worthwhile

Lets be honest, if the fee is £250k then it will probably be upfront. Its nothing to Brighton.

Honest question Andy and not intended as a dig at Rupp/ the club in any way but apart from paying off a few debts brought about by their own mismanagement, what exactly was the great benefit we saw after the sale of McBurnie?

I only ask as I don't see any reinvestment in the team, the club or even the facilities. We even have our CEO explaining that we can't afford to replace the hand dryers so I ask once again, and this is open to anybody. What exactly was the benefit or progression we saw from the McBurnie sell on money?

I would hazard a guess that a hefty proportion was used to cover costs during the covid season with no fans

A lot of it went into Bowyer's season in League 2. Our budget was big that year.

As others have said, it helped keep us from deeper debt at a time when the clubs income was vastly reduced.
Running my own Business , i know how difficult it was for many , not only through covid, but brexit and now our idiot Russian friend.
Lets hope any further incoming finance from the sale of youngster can be spent in the right way and used wisely.

We had 12 and the amount they ate was incredible, including household waste greens. Eggs were wonderful though.

Over the years zero left now . Still got avian flu to contend with!

Best of luck to the lad if it's true!

Shame we can't keep and develop players but that's the nature of the pyramid and where we are in it at the moment. It's still good that we're able to scout and develop these players up to the point where clubs are willing to dish out £250k for them. Can't imagine that we don't have sell on fees and the like added on to that.

Let's not go wasting that money on a McCartan now...

    Covid season
    Paying off Vaughan
Paying off Bowyer, McCall, T&S and probably Derek.
Hughes won't have come to earn peanuts.

We also had a big defecit after Edin went wild with a wage bill of around £4.5m.

Whatever money we made from Ollie will have covered the above.

Didn't it repay Mark Lawns loan ? Or was that from other such sales.

Wow, ours takes some doing as it’s a big coop. Horse wood chippings go in a bale at a time!

I believe Marks loan was repaid after our Wembley appearances, and by all accounts Mark wasn't in a rush for it to be repaid but Julian insisted ;).

We don’t have a milkman ……Farms round here are all non cattle. Nearest supermarket milk/ egg supply is 10 miles. If you want fresh and top quality half a dozen chicks is reasonable, we went too far with 12!

I think its more the reality of being a league 2 club. Thankfully we have got something out of it other than just development fees. It is a shame we couldn't progress him. Maybe some future loans?
