I’d forget Dion coming back. Where does he play now we’ve discovered that a 4-4-2, with Banks and Chapman as wingers, suits us best.

i can’t see him having the grit to play CM and that’s the only position left in our XI that is up for grabs now - the slot alongside Smallwood.

even then, that’s only until Walker is fit again.

 

I wonder if Songo'O and Threlkeld will be out the door before deadline. I'm surprised Songo'O hasn't featured more than he has, particularly with the cup games. As for Threlkeld he's way down the pecking order but seems content to sit in the stands, or so it would seem. Personally I'd like to keep Songo'O because he gives us that solidity in the middle.

 

I would like to keep Songo'o, but wouldn't be surprised to see him go next week.

 

Cant see Songo'o leaving. If he did, we'd only have 2 fit CBs until Odusina is back, no brainer that we cant let him leave.

I think we've gone past Pereira in terms of squad building. For the two winger slots we have or even the 3 slots behind a striker when we go 4231 again, we have...... Angol, Gilly, Banks, Chapman and Young along with MH given Harratt and Sutton minutes off the bench out wide too. Add into that Eisa coming back to fitness, Walker in about 4 or 5 weeks and Osadebe in 2023. Seems like a position we don't need any more depth in.

 

We need another Centre back to cover for any further injuries or suspension

 

I'm surprised we've still not shipped Threlkeld out the door.
I sincerely hope Songo'o stays. I really like the bloke. He may not have the skills of some others but he puts in a real shift and at the level we're at his physicality is a big plus.
I think it's those traits that have made him a fan favourite. He exudes the brand ethos of what it is to be a City player; hard working and gives everything to the cause.

We are not going to sign two players on loan battling it out of a place in the team.

I'm on holiday so apologies if I'm behind the times but isn't Blackburn the only time we've started in a 4 4 2 and we got mullered in the middle of the park?

 

He didn't say "experienced specialist" Centre backs. You did.

That said, we have Critchlow, Platt, Odusina, Songo'o and at a push Foulds. I think that's enough for a league two outfit with limited funds.

 

Hendrie can also play there. We will need to replace Critchlow in Jan when he is inevitably recalled.

 

So that's 2 centre backs and 2 who are make up centre backs. That is not good enough we need another centre back whos main role is a centre back. One injury to Platt or Critchlow would leave us with make do centre backs. It would be smart to rectify that while we have the opportunity before deadline day
PS. The reason Foulds. Hendrie and Songo are not playing centre back full time is because it is a fill in position for them not the main one

 

Odusina Hartlepools young player of the year? Not sure he’s a make do? And sonogo has played centre half most of his career aswell as holding midfield last place we need is centre half

You need to revise and resit your current player knowledge exam Trevor.

We clearly have at least 4 centre halves in our squad, not 2 as you seem to think
