Poor move that in my opinion. Hes jumping from one relegation favourite to another!

That's what I thought. It was mentioned on the EFL highlights show at the weekend

I'd certainly take Cullen and his passing over Jordi Hiwula or Mark McNultys runs, let's put it that way. That's a daft comparison to make imo.

Gomes has gone there on loan. Maybe he fancies linking up with him again.

I would take Cullen ovet both of them too. Maybe I didn't word it as best I could. I could have left out the mention of Law and Cullen. Point I was trying to make is that we get strikers who have been coached to play a certain way and make penetrating runs, but we always seem to struggle to pick them out, or even try to. As per what people have been saying about Olivers runs on Tuesday

Yeah I agree with the point but regarding Oliver, I'm not sure I'm seeing the same runs. He looks very static at the moment, certainly compared to Cook and that's part of the issue imo.

I didn't go to Colchester but was going on what a few people have said. I would love to see what Harratt can do given a start. He looks an out and out striker to me, first thing on his mind getting a shot on goal

Interview on Radio Leeds with Harratt yesterday. He describes himself as a fox in the box type poacher. He is a very confident sounding young man and I would like to see him play centrally alongside Cook.

Meanwhile Hughes says they are still working out how to get the best out of Oliver with the system. Seems more and more like a signing Hughes had no say in to me.

That's just a guess. Do you really think MH, with all his millions in the bank, would stand for being told which players are coming into the club?

That's poor from you Idle. You're scaremongering.

Going to make a deadline day prediction and I am definitely not in the know. I think we will see Songo’o off to Morecambe and we will bring in Pereira from Luton.

There were a couple of times 1st half on Tuesday Oliver was on the last defender good to go but ridalgh and crichlow carried on passing to each other instead of the forward pass. Oliver was visibly frustrated

    Not scaremongering at all.

I would imagine MH had never heard or seen Oliver before, along with most of the signings actually. Gent and maybe Hodges have recommended him, and now MH has seen him in action for us, he clearly has a conundrum on his hands on how to integrate him into his preferred 4-2-3-1 system.

    Hopefully MH works it out

We don’t have a player barring Walker who can make passes behind the line for Oliver to run onto. We don’t have enough fit wingers on the books who are good at crossing the ball into the box to provide adequate service. We don’t play in a system that allows a target man to thrive but the major reaction on this forum is Oliver is to blame for his performances

There is clearly a player in there. The attributes are evidently clear to see. But at this moment in time, we could have Ronaldo up front an the situation would be the same. He’s not getting any service!

Without Walker, I don’t see the point in playing a 4-2-3-1. Hughes has managed several PL clubs an he didn't get there by having one strategy and one strategy only. I have no doubt in my mind that in the games to come, he will experiment with the formations an get the team to click. We’ve had Plan A go out the window due to early season injuries, lets hope that we have a Plan B & C in the pipeline

Hypothetically speaking, If we already had the intention of signing a winger prior to Osadebe getting injured, I see no reason as to why Dion is no longer an option for us. Imo we’re a winger short. Eisa isn’t reliable. Osadebe is out till April. Chapman is covering for Walker & based on Colchester’s performance, Young will be on the bench for the foreseeable future. That leaves us with Banks, who id personally like to see play on the left compared to the right. So if we could get Dion back, we’d be fully covered

Do you think MH might have watched some videos of Oliver prior to signing him?
Do you think MH said 'I like what I see, let's progress this one?'.

None of the strikers will score goals if we don’t supply them properly that’s what we need to work on.in the system we play it doesn’t allow for two out and out strikers so it’s either Cook or Harratt. Or play Harratt out of position
