    Not sure of the managers not rating him, he got injured when in the team and looking reasonably good, then Stuart, i believe brought him straight back through desperation and compounded his injury, thus missing the rest of the season. Derek Adams was a total clown and had very little time for any of the younger players. The way he kept selecting Threlkeld ahead of FCD,who is average at best,yet still could develop, but in my opinion is just as good or poor player than Threlkeld, depending on your opinion ,tells you all you need to know.

    FCD isn't very good though. Is he a CB or a RB? He just always seems very nervous

    It's a tough one. Most young centre backs start at full back as it's seen as less risky. Not many Managers will throw in a young one at centre back who could get bullied. Carragher for example, started at right back whilst he built experience.

    Here's the thing - we tried McBurnie at a young age, and he wasn't ready. He was undercooked.

    So we took him out the team, and hey presto, in come Swansea with a very good offer and he's off to the Premier League.

    It would appear if clubs are tracking youngsters, there's a reason for it - Staunton probably isn't done and dusted just because he wasn't ready at 18 - and nor should we have tried to 'force' his development.

    I'll trust Hughes here - if he keeps Staunton around, there's still a chance he succeeds - if he cuts him loose, it's probably because he wasn't progressing.

    Matty Foulds was one of the few players that looked better under Adams than under Hughes.

    I think he's more of a standard full back than an attacking full back, like Hughes seems to want, and I just don't see how he fits in going forward. He's also 24, and I'd expect him to have established himself by this point. But again, if Hughes wants him as back up, he's probably shown enough earlier in the season to justify it.

    People keep saying that, but it's only true if Hughes is happy with Ridehalgh.

    I think Liam has played well since Hughes has been here, but he's only actually played 4 times.

    Again, is he the highly mobile attacking threat Hughes seemed to want Hendrie to be when criticising Hendrie's crosses from the other side?

    Not as convinced as everyone else seems to be.

    That is why i said FCD is average at best , but has time on his side , but Threlkeld is just really poor.

    Parker had him as winning the most consistent player of the season with the highest average mark from his match reports. To me those marks are correct. Best crosser of a ball we have at the club.

    Ridhalge is quite pacy and has a decent cross on him Foulds to can cross pretty well but is not as comfortable coming forward if better is available like all other positions then we should take the option

    He had a decent season, not denying that.

    Still not sure though - best moments came when he was playing alongside Vernam earlier in the season.

    Interestingly enough, only got 2 assists this season - same as Hendrie - and he's 31.

    I think if we want to ensure we're up there next season, we can definitely improve at LB.

    Be interesting to see if the Bolton lad does end up on our radar. I'll be honest I like Ridehalgh, does a lot right for me. Did link well with Vernam

    That would be a great signing at this level. Even at 35 the lad would be fantastic at this level.

    Spot on. He’s the only one that can put a bend ( or whipped cross as some prefer to call it) in a ball from the flank. Goal at Sutton that Vernam scored at the back post, springs to mind if I remember rightly? None of the others can do it!

    Scottish Sun is linking us with a return for George Miller. 12 goals last term for Walsall and on a freebie. This has Gents paws all over it....

    I wouldnt judge him on his previous spell though. He was only 18/19.
