Someone has made a good point on Twitter regarding Vernam, the fact he’s in Portugal means it’s unlikely he’ll be at the service tomorrow.

Poor form imo, he’s contracted until June and all players should have the responsibility to show their face.

 

For all the money Wrexham have spent they were a typical Parky side. Bang average in possession but good from set pieces. Tozers throw is like a howitzer sending shells into the box. Take Mullin and Palmer out and they are a very average football side. The times I've seen Halifax this season they play better football but don't have the luxury of two 4k a week strikers upfront.

 

They are permitted to go on holiday Wilsden….as long as the club have a number of representatives present I don’t see a problem personally. Where do you stop in saying who should or shouldn’t go?

If I still lived in Bradford it’s nailed on I wouldn’t attend, I have my own memories of the day, what I did, what I saw and as a result don’t need a service to remind me and bring it all looming back.

Nobody in our squad were born before the disaster don’t forget.

It’s a case of each to their own for wildly differing reasons.

 

Take any two of a teams best players out of a team and they will be worse off..... Wrexham will throw money about in the Summer. It might work, it might not. We should only worry about ourselves and what we want to achieve.

Totally agree, first thing I noticed was the keeper, French and their CB hoofing it to Palmer all game. As Hughes said about Sutton, I think their keeper was their most creative player. Still it’ll work in the lower leagues but it has a ceiling.

 

You aren’t a club representative Kev, I’m not expecting every civilian and fan to attend. Those employed who’re in the public eye should attend imo, as all Liverpool staff do to represent the club and city. It’s just my opinion, I totally disagree with yours so we’ll have to agree to disagree and leave it there.

I haven't seen much of either side apart from the semi finals and it was always going to be blood and thunder rather than flowing football, our three encounters with Millwall were very similar, the only free flowing football was the final against Northampton and I think us being there 3 months previous was a big advantage to our players.

 

Exactly the type of loan we need to be looking at, Sunderland being in league one might have been a reason Spurs let him go on loan it was Lee Johnson who brought him to the club n the January window, let's hope Mark Hughes name can influence club with regards any incoming loans.

 

Has/does every single player usually attend the memorial service? I seem to recall it is usually a few representatives rather than the whole squad that attends, but feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

 

Sure the squad used to attend when Parkinson was here, can’t remember it only been a few.

 

I think I read somewhere that all players were contracted to attend.

 

There is usually a good turn out from both first teamers and the kids, the manager and backroom staff.
I personally wouldn't want any player to be told he has to attend the memorial apart from them playing for Bradford City they have no other alligence to the club.

 

This is what’s in the T & A, maybe Vernam no longer considers himself a Bradford City player and part of the first team squad.

 

Well he is until June 30th when we stop paying him. But unless he is contractually obliged to aftend it is his decision.

 

I agree it’s his decision, nobody can force someone to attend something like that nor should they be forced.

 

Agree. The Sunderland v Wednesday matches were pretty dull tbh. Neither team looked like they knew how to create chances and score.

 

Depends. If he has already agreed terms to sign for another club(which is the talk I believe) then he might be thinking I will get my holiday in now before pre season and settle where he is going with his family.

Yes, players are contracted until the end on June and paid to the end of July if out of contract but unlike some others he won't be in the position to having to think about stay or leaving if his mind is already made up and the deal done.
