Hes obviously too young to rememebr Eddie Youds and I thought Vincelot was decent until his legs went.

 

He certainly won’t remember Joe Cooke or Tony Leighton

 

Absolutely loved Youds, what a player he was for us.

 

Well Watt is a bit ginge isn’t he?

 

Ah Tony Leighton came as a striker in a swap for Pablo Aimson. He was always a striker but when we signed big Norman Corner as centre forward Tony slotted into centre back and was superb in our 68/69 promotion. Joe Cooke of course often was swapped about playing centre half or centre forward. Always preferred Joe as a striker.

I remember a very enjoyable win away at Notts County with PC Showler and Youds banging a goal in each. They had a black giant up front. Devon White?

 

I wondered if one might be Watt but tbh I'd just given up hope he'd be signing!

 

This window is all about scouting and how good it is. We have cried out for these type of signings for years , finding players before they are beyond our means.
It could go pear shaped or we could really reap the benefits it’s all down to how good the new scouting set up is

 

Well if we have any other deals completed already you'd expect them to be announced today or tomorrow morning. They can't exactly hide them once the players are back in training.

 

Fixtures released at 9am - cant clash with them.

 

Are we still hopeful for Smallwood?

 

Aye I said the same yesterday, if they’re not announced by tonight then I’d say they haven’t signed yet.

I'm thinking lunchtime. Gives them the afternoon to showcase them before starting with the pre season and fixture release day countdown later tonight.
