    The way hughesy got us playing at the back end of the season it won’t take many signings to get us upwards and challenging

    I'm weirded out by all the excitement of Odusina.

    Genuinely still got no idea who he is, and the rumour's been around for a while. People saying he played well against us. Don't even remember either Hartlepool game, TBH.

    Smallwood's a good one, Pereira's going to be great to have in the building, and personally I couldn't give a toss about the kit. People seem to care passionately what t shirt we wear and what pattern it displays. Not for me, don't care, but you can't argue that's a great day of announcements.

    A virtual fun day down at VP!

    Credit to all involved if everything comes off smoothly.

    Even more credit to all involved if we exceed last season's ST sales considering the abysmal season we had!

    No comment re the home game as I cannot remember anything beyond how bad we were.
    At their place, though, Odusina was very dominant and composed. Stood out for both them and us (not difficult I know) on the night.
    Only one game - but based on that if that’s his level then I’d be delighted if he signed

    I like the idea he's a left footed left-sided centre back.

    I like that he's 22, and played a lot of football.

    Seems to be Hughes' MO with the squad players.

    It will be a big surprise if he's a lot better than POC, though, but I guess he doesn't have to be; POC & Songo'o were doing quite well at the back end of the season, and Songo'o absolutely is not a centre back. He went from solid to fish-out-of-water the second he was put under real pressure, and yet STILL did okay.

    Both him and Platt are very well regarded by their respective fans as are all the players we have signed except the lad from Wallsall. Having said that he hasn’t signed yet it’s speculation

    Yes, it makes sense to me that they would see us as a natural progression.

    They're going to be a bigger club that finished higher in the league (albeit, only slightly higher than Hartlepool).

    Obviously on the opposite end of that argument is the fact we're signing 'highly regarded' players from poor sides.

    It might all be academic, though, if none of these players can actually break into the team.

    It’s all about Squad isn’t it . A fit first eleven last season was decent at least after Hughes arrived but we were very weak after that so these signings and probably two or three more loans and we will be stronger

    I think that's right, I'm convinced most players will play at least 10-15 games next season with Hughes' history as a squad rotator.

    I've no issue with that, but it remains to be seen how consistent League Two players really will be in a squad rotation system. Under Parky, it was pivotal that our key players played nearly every game to keep them sharp.

    It's going to be an interesting season, Park.

    Despite looking unlikely I'm going to have a guess on us landing Smallwood, he will without doubt have offers from L1, but my guess is we've offered him a 3 year deal and pretty much matching lower L1 wages, with the captaincy also. If you factor in MH factor and the Gent relink up adds up to his best offer, unless obviously high end L1 are involved.

    That’s only the case if we keep our best players from last season. POC has left and none of Watt, Vernam or Pereira have agreed to come back yet.

    Hope this is right as it sounds the better of that situation, I would rather keep Vernam than Watt and Dion is a class player but he needs to be more consistent and I think Hughes will get that out of him.

    Ha Ha. I once fell asleep (drunk) whilst ringing the Bradford City LIne on that 0898 number and the call cost £48.00 My wife went bananas. The only saving grace is WAS the Bradford City line not a Big Juicy Redhead Line
