Songo was more than adequate under Hughes. Why do we need experiemced when we have him and Ridehalgh

 

I am starting to think we’ll get Smallwood if he lives in the North East which I’m presuming he does? There aren’t many options up there, Sunderland and Middlesbrough big championship sides, probably want more and obviously don’t talk about Newcastle. Hartlepool are the 4th biggest side in the North East! As you work your way down, obviously Hull he’s just left so it leaves the likes of us and Harrogate in league 1 and 2 which is probably his realistic destination. If he’s wanting a longer term contract no championship club will commit to giving him one so it also removes Rotherham and probably Sheffield Wednesday(as they’ll want to be promoted this coming season). It really does limit his options when you think about it.

 

No i wouldn't , although like all the new signings bar Walker i know very little about them, so reserve judgement.
What i will say is that Sonogo , not an actual centre half , often stood out ahead of Paudie, which says a lot to me.

Indeed. Its spin, rather than reality. That's my point really - whatever Sparks says, if Posh and us have similar levels of interest in Smallwood, we're not favourites to sign him.

 

Sparks is no different to anyone in the same type of role. It’s their job to promote their club/ business not run them down.

 

Citys social media timeline has been utterly depressing this week. Appreciate a signing isnt just a player with a pen anymore and they like to do the whole fanfare with videos and interviews.

I reckon we got 2 lined up to announce before the ST deadline. Hopefully Vernam in the new kit too.
