Hes definately a northern boy based on his clubs. Gent worked with him at Boro a decade or so ago so will know him.

Sunderland and Lincoln have to go in for him mind.

Means absolutely nothing. If I was those clubs I would be looking at a seasoned championship midfielder especially if I found out Bradford were interested

 

With many Hull fan's baffled by the decision. Moving up a division you want experience of that division. 31 is hardly coming to an end

 

Made up interest is a tad harsh. I'm not sure a news article or tweet has anymore logic too it. I am looking at sides, the player, location (considering all his sides have been Northern) and admittedly putting two and two together and making assumptions, but if I was those clubs I would be looking into him. I'm not sure articles or tweets do much more than this. For example. Charlie Adams is basically lets look at all Hughes past players and work out who could realistically come to us

Posh - play in L1, can offer higher wages, McCann his former Hull boss

City - guaranteed football, location closer to home, Gent was part of the Boro set up that brought him through the youth ranks.

If we can get close to what Posh are offering, maybe with a promo bonus to top him up then think we may have a chance. Posh aren't paying over the odds for a 31 year old.

 

And neither should we.

 

Guess what I am saying is Posh have a higher ceiling than us but they won't be making him a top earner.

All things considered, we need him more than they do so if we have to pay a little bit more than what we usually do then so be it. He would be a coup.

 

What sort of player is he other than midfielder? Holding? Box to box? I know his name and that a few seem to be implying he’d be a great signing.
Not challenging that, but I don’t personally have a clue about him if I’m honest, so interested to know what all the excitement is?

 

Well he was always a box to box type but think he plays a bit deeper, holding now. I think given his experience and success at Rotherham, Blackburn and Hull he would be a great leader to have on the pitch too. Deffo captain material.

 

We do need a leader in the middle that’s for sure.
Notice like most of our signings to date, he’s another 6ft plus player. We’ve got the makings of a physically big squad.

 

I don't see us getting one over over Posh here. I'll be impressed if we win this race.

Posh offers div 1 football and maybe a shot at the Championship.

Bradford don’t come close to that.

 

Maybe Bradford City do though!

 

Not a chance we can beat Darragh to a signing.

Unless he's part of his advance party ahead of the takeover.

 

Peterborough might not even be in for him, his agent maybe trying to start an auction to get as much out of us as possible. I remember when we were rumoured with Bradley Dack and it was a load of nonsense to give Blackburn a kick up the backside.
