Vernam looked a different player when he came back from injury under Hughes but I think Watt is integral to the way Hughes likes to play and he is a player who has more scope for improvement so it’s Watt for me

Parky wanted to get the deal done in the January but Stead didn't sign. Then we brought in Proctor and Davies in the summer.

June 4th and 7 signings through the door and 2 announced new deals. Plus 9,000 tickets sold.

Way ahead of the usual curve. Cant help but feel the club have stepped up to appease Sparky. Top managers have that influence.

Vernam first pick, then Watt and finally Paudie. Lets hope the club already know their decisions. Thought based on difficulty to replace in the squad. Hope they see what the club is trying to do and stay.

It's still early days. They're all getting paid until the end of the month regardless.
A lot of deals will get done towards the end of the month.

Considering we let in loads of goals, and our strikers were feeding off scraps, I wouldnt be bothered if Watt and Paudie left. Vernam is at least direct and attack focused. Keep him, free up the wages from the other two to bring in better.

Vernam may be the most enjoyable to watch, an for most of this season, has been our biggest attacking theeat, But Watt dictates the flow of this team an would be the hardest to replace, So Id say him

With Guidance from Hughes an considering his age, id say he would be the player with the highest ceiling an the player we’d struggle to replace the most. We looked piss poor when he was out with suspension near the end of the season an we had the likes of Cooke an Evans playing in his role instead

I think you can move Threlkeld and Finn cousin Dawson to the right back spot, neither are great but it’s the only position either will get in the team.

Under Mark Hughes we conceded 14 goals in 13 games, many of which were against teams in the top six. It also includes the 3-0 drubbing away at Colchester where Sparky played a virtual second team to rest players and get a look at some of the squad guys. So leaving that game aside, we conceded less than a goal per game under MH. That's not letting in "loads of goals". Our much bigger problem was failing to score enough.

Personally I think both suit the positions @Bantam75@Bantam75 has put them in and the fact they only play RB is probably why they do so poor, most of Finns youth career I believe was at CB and Threlkeld played as a holding mid at Salford.

I think it's playing football that makes OT look poor. Nothing to do with the position.

Please can someone give me the lowdown on Staunton. What makes people wet themselves to keep him when numerous managers have ignored him? I appreciate he is homegrown but genuine question?

I can't see Hendrie not resigning if he has been made an offer.

At the same time Vernam started to show what he could do so did Watt and we were scoring plenty of goals at the end and to give Paudie credit we were conceding little as well

Not the right way to look at it but who’s got the highest ceiling of the three and potentially the most value of they re-sign. I’d say Watt or Paudie
