I think MH is looking for another year long loan deal rather than an actual signing. Who better to impart wisdom about how to fire it into the net than Mark Hughes! Canny wanting a loan deal if he can improve him all well and good if not then we can let him go next season.

 

For that to work, Luton will need to offer him a new deal as he is out of contract with them in the summer. I can't see that happening to be honest.

 

Provided there's no recall then I'm happy with that. You'd like to think any player working under Hughes & Hodges will improve by 10-20% and as a result could be recalled in January. That will disrupt our momentum unless the parent clubs decide its best to leave them with us.

 

You can't even spell his name right so it's difficult to take the opinion seriously but if you can't see what Vernam offers us then you're not paying enough attention on a match day.

No one is suggesting he's the new Messi but he's more that good enough for a team trying to achieve promotion from league 2 next year.

 

Even though as you say Vernam has hit a purple patch with regards hitting the back of the net, in most games he's played he's looked a cut above the rest, in that night game against Stevenage at times he was unplayable, I'd be more than happy if he stayed.

 

Didn't realise that. The likes of Perriera and Vernam are the potential gems we need to try and polish. He's well worth a punt.

 

If we have better forwards we won’t need to rely on Vernam’s inconsistent finishing. He can make the runs and beat people and give to a new striker

 

We need Vernam in the side for his pace. If Pereira stays he too has that ability to glide past players.

You can’t defend against pace and those lads are about as good as we’ll get in terms of pacy widemen at this level.

We missed Vernam this year when he was injured.

 

The first few signings/retentions could set the tone couldn’t they.

If its players like Kelleher and Robinson, any optimism and positivity will disappear faster than Andy Cook’s fish n chips supper on the team bus on Saturday

 

Have we a 12 month option with Vernam.

 

Judging by his radio leeds interview yesterday, very doubtful. He said he wants to get to end of the season then look at things. He said you dont wanna let a contract run out as its your job but it very much seemed to me he’s off but wont announce it to avoid tension while still here for the final weeks.

If so we would have taken that up months ago.
