    I'm not naive at all. The rules around the appointment of a new manager have been tightened up over recent years. Clubs tapping up another club's manager run the risk of fines, points deductions and transfer embargoes. Any club director involved in the tapping up would then fail to meet the Owners & Directors test and be precluded from being a club director in the future. Clubs may still do it but they run an enormous risk these days.

    Sounds very naive that. He wont have signed, may have agreed but dont kid yourself. Agents talk to clubs all the time. Chatting and gentleman agreements Is not against the rules.

    A shame about McAlney. Looks like we could have had him in January but the one with the greasy hair questioned his attitude in the press. Oh well, they signed us Danny Rowe instead...

    Yes, we know what the 'rules are'. And everyone sticks to them. Heaven forfend that players, clubs and managers have been talking privately for weeks - and in some cases, months - about their next potential moves. Well obviously, it could just never happen!

    See Stevenage have signed Exeter's captain Jake Taylor. A very good signing for this level, I think their fans thought he might have gone to the level above. I hope we're not missing out on decent players whilst waiting for a manager.
