An old head in defense many were happy for us to keep Matt Kilgallon.

 

Tom Clarke and Niall Cavanan would be a solid centre back pairing but would lack pace.

 

Is that where the solid defensive midfielder comes in to help out?

 

Yes that would be ideal but we haven't had one for quite sometime.

 

Adams will bring Diagouraga with him.

 

Anthony Grant at Swindon another option.

I think we were after him during McCalls first spell back in 08/09. We signed Loach and Fielding went to Rochdale. I remember him having an absolute stormer against us.

 

You're correct I do remember his name being brought up.

 

McAleny, Cook and Moult would be an ideal trio of striking options for sure

 

There's a bloody good team amongst that lot.

Wilson gone. Sounds like Moult might be going back to Motherwell. Ipswich contacted McAleny according to Oldham fans, along with probably half of L1. Amarai'i Bell linked to Charlton and Luton already this summer. As you say, a lot are very improbable but a few on that list would drop to L2 if the money was right.

If we do get Adams, I wouldn't mind him bringing Ben Pringle over to us as a "veteran/experienced head" in midfield. Always rated him. 32, so not over the hill.
