The most 'captain-like' captain we've had for yonks.

I can see a fair bit of the young Greg Abbott in Sutton.

Can't have that. At times last season I was pulling out what little hair I had left at his Co stant looking for the long pass when a short pass was the better option. Certainly not an automatic choice when both Songo'o and Sutton are fit.

Hey I’m not being critical but there was a long pass by Watt to their left back area on Saturday in the second half, not a City player within 25 yards , so I agree he’s still to pick his passes for sure.

Stop it Park…watch the game on Saturday. He was far from perfect and yet I like the lad. Stop bulling him up, his long passes are NOT very good. Sometimes yes, most times average, occasionally, woeful, like the one on Saturday 2nd half.

As I say the stats for completed long passes last season show he was the best in the division. Obviously when you play that sort of pass some go astray and people remember those but his long range passing is very good

Not all the time but he will learn to pick and choose over time. Stats don’t mean anything to me but I get your point.

You've heard the phrase, lies, damn lies and statistics? They mean diddly squat in football terms. We need to stop obsessing with them.

The only statistics that count in football are goals scored v goals conceded and points gained come the end of May.

We have a really strong midfield when all are fit and most are interchangeable the only area of concern is the number 10 position but Eisa and Gillead can play there.
I think if we are to bring another after a striker we might be better bringing another centre half where if we get injuries we might struggle

The chances of both senior centre halves being out longish term is slim. We have enough cover for emergencies and there will always be a free agent we could pick up

Sutton seems to split opinion but i like the lad. Has a number of assets to his game, genuinely quick, can tackle, offers a goal threat and can play a number of positions. Can sometimes go walkabout position wise but i like that unpredictabiity about him.

Yep I like him too, we have riches of players able to come in and do a job for a change. ( when fit) At the moment I think we have the balance just about there. Watt is growing on me , for sure.

With Songo'o looking like the midfield anchor we've been looking for years it should allow the likes of Sutton and Watt more freedom to get forward. I don't want to see Watt picking the ball up yards from our back four like he used to do and i don't think Adams tactics will allow for that. Besides, i think his talent lies further up the field than deep lying like Songo'o.

To give McCall his dues, Sutton was a great signing, think Sutton suffered the stigma in some quarters of being a freebie released by Scunthorpe (must be sh*t!) , but bit by bit he has won over the doubters, IMO he was one of the best signings last season, bang for buck he adds a lot to the squad/team.

Watt is clearly a talent he’s one of those neat and tidy players but for me doesn’t pull up any trees, not really his job however, mr consistent and compared to some cloggers at this level he is quality. Perhaps this season he will get forward a bit more.

And your point is what ? We have four centre halves and two central strikers. We no longer play this game for a 1.0 win

Agree. We should also bear in mind, he's still a young kid. He doesn't have a big amount of first team games under his belt and is still learning the difficult challenges of life in League Two.

There is definitely a talent in Watt but I don’t think he’s got a good football brain.
