You wont get an articulate response. He isnt capable. Cant even tell me who will finish above our midtable squad. Pure guesswork...with a sprinkling of hope.

 

This team won't finish mid table, our manager simply will not accept mediocrity. Any player who does not perform will be replaced. We don't have a stand out squad, no one does in this dire division, but we now have an air of professionalism about us that was badly lacking under Rahic and then Rhodes.

Really encouraging words from Ryan in that interview. Also enlightening that they are considering more transfer business before the window closes.Big responsibility for Sparks but he certainly impresses as the man for the job.

 

9 players already in and possibility of a couple more. Think we will see someone capable of RB/CB, like Foulds on the other side to cover all bases. Maybe an attacking MF to offer Cooke some competition.

Squad will be competetive. 2/3 senior pros left out each week.

 

Dont ya just love the expert analysis on here who said Adams was purely brought in to work with a small budget squad like he did at Morecombe?

24 senior pros now - healthy competition. And those claiming budget have already elevated us to 'midtable squad'.

 

Or the experts on here who said putting up season ticket prices would be terrible for the club? The very price increases that are helping to fund extra recruitment because as Sparks says in the latest interview 'Rupp is not funding the club'. Fans can be happy knowing that extra money they have given has gone to team strengthening.

 

The squad is competitive but lacks quality. Most of the players are of the same skill set barring Cooke who seems the stand out player in his position. Might add Cook to that.

Nothing, wrong with that if we can get a team that can really work together but my fear is our lack of quality will be our downfall.

 

Don't forget the hand sanitiser as well. Funded Lavery coming in did that.

 

Out of interest, which league 2 sides do you think have more quality than we have?

 

I don't care about others at this stage but we finished bottom half last season and have it all to do to finish in automatic.

We lack quality but have a competitive squad but only because the levels are near enough the same.

 

When you say you don't care what you really mean is you don't know. It's league 2, more or less every team is going to be full of bang average players with the odd one or two stand outs, just like us. Your make believe sides overflowing with quality simple don't exist in this division.

It's often that no one predicted the player who scores a bucket load of goals. Similarly, the team who everyone predicted to struggle but does well, ala Morecambe.

A team that starts well and maintains that form, suddenly look like a side full of quality because they're playing with confidence. I'm hoping we carry the preseason form into the league and that players like Angol will be classed as too good for this league.
