I could be wrong but also I thought Mellor was in the division1 team of the season when at Blackpool

 

It’s all relative to the level they’re playing at, I’m sure he didn’t mean future England stars just rated highly by their fans and done well in the divisions they’ve played in.

 

Some haven't even played a game for us and posters are questioning with regards their ability, and not being of a standard to take us forward.
I'll take Adams opinion on those players but if they don't meet expectations they’ll take great delight in saying they called it back in June, needless to say if Adams does continue with his excellent record as a manager getting his teams promotion they'll find something else to use to criticise the club.

 

What if Adams' opinion is that some of those signings are back up and largely to be used if players are injured?

Well since that's all most 'moaners' are saying, then hasn't Adams written those players off?

What if my opinion of Kelleher, for example, being an unimportant signing is exactly the same as Adam's view?

No it’s a Squad game whether he sees these players as back up or not he sees them as capable of deputising if the first choice is injured. It’s up to them in training to convince him they should be first choice the way it should be

 

I suspect they've been trying to get in another striker and a couple have rejected us or gone elsewhere. Going to be the hardest piece of the puzzle!!

 

Right - but with budgetary concerns, there's every chance these lads are seen as often as Tyler French and Jackson Longridge.

Not every signing will be fit for first team action, and it's easy to spot the players less likely to get game time.

That isn't writing anyone off and moaning, it's being realistic.

 

As is Omari Patrick. Something I never expected seeing.

You’ll be pleased to know that we’ve all-but signed a key target - which just so happens to be a striker.

 

Same, some players are late bloomers though, or we may have used him wrong or a bit of both. Hopefully Gilliead has improved similarly.

 

NKP's best season was when he was next to Kilgallon, a bigger and much stronger defender than KP.

He blossomed at Morecambe playing next to Lavelle, a bigger and much stronger defender than....

Well, you get the point.

Play him next to a unit and he'll mop up; play him as the unit and he'll struggle badly.

 

I’d argue two of the players Turnbull brought in in January were a success, the rest are questionable at best. I’ve not got a lot of faith in him just yet.

 

I actually think that was the season it all started going wrong for him. He had his best year next to Vincelot/McArdle when he could play on his preferred left side. When he had to play on the right to accommodate Kilgallon, he really started to dip.

 

Its called a SQUAD for a reason maybe? What a silly question Jon.

 

And yet he was excellent partnering Vincelot - distinctly not 'a unit' - in the first half of 2016/17, but perhaps slightly less so in the second half, partnering Rory.

 

We keep saying this….every football club in the world with the exception of Man City have the exact same dilemma.
