Well we might have signed his replacement now anyway.

People need to urgently get in it in to their heads that barring maybe one or two last season the players were not good enough.

I not saying replace all but this they are good is utter nonsense.

I think Adams will rip up last year’s team within his 3 years and is starting already.

No Bradford City player in it mate! NONE!!

No Morecambe player either because most of them are crap also hence why we haven’t signed any as yet.

 

Actually I agree with you. I think he's a fantastic fit for a side that came 15th in League two.

Some people love to put our players down, often before they have even kicked a ball.
Paudie is not the best defender in the league or the worse, by a long way. He is still relatively young and inexperienced and i think will improve with better coaching and playing in a more successfull team.
I think most were happy we managed to sign him from Leeds, unfortunately the lad has played in poor City teams ever since,
Which i think has held him back and that is down to the club and its poor recruitment. Hopefully that has now come to an end.

 

I agree with you. I think it's just because we've seen so many players come in on a massive fanfair, and then fail to live up to the hype. Often it's a case of wanting to be proved wrong, but experience has shown us that it doesn't always happen. I was one of the people who didn't get carried away by Rowe. Something just didn't feel right about that signing - the fact that he was signed to score goals, then hung out to dry and shoved up top on his own. However, I don't think his attitude was right from the start, and that was what was obvious to me. Paudie is not the best or worst defender in the league I totally agree, but what I'd like to see from him is progression. He's been given a lot of gametime, been handed the captaincy, yet seems to have gone downhill. At 24, in this day and age, he's not relatively young. Perhaps as you say, under new management, he'll pick himself up and crack on, but at the same time, he's only got himself to blame if DA brings someone in to replace him. Simple fact is, the team of last season finished in the bottom half of the league. If we're happy with that, then lets just keep the same team each season. If we're not, then we've got to bring in better players than those who failed.

 

Good post fella. The point about players and fanfare is so true. Individually each player so far signed on their own look OK but as Aristotle would say, it's the sum of the parts...

Yes we did finish bottom half, but at one point we could have pushed on for the playoff's, something happened and the wheels fell off again. Players or management, we will never know but i am willing to give the one's that remain from last season , the chance to prove themselves.

 

If they throw enough names out there they will be correct at some point (no club gets every signing right) then they can use said player saying I told you he was crap, don't play their game.

 

It's happend every season in my time of watching City, names you thought at the time great signing for this level only to let us down, too many to name but off the top of my head Mark Aizlewood, Lee Power, John McGinlay, Paul Reaney, Terry Owen (Michael's dad) Colin Hall, Tony Adcock.

Well put, he needs coaching and a season learning from Canavan. The signs of the “clicking” were there on the good run….Then we changed keeper and the entire defence fell apart because we retreated into the 6 yard box?

Id suggest about 90% of our signings the last 3 years have been absolutely crap or bang average at best. Prove me otherwise...

Hope im wrong in Paudie. Squad member great, team going for the title im not convinced. Id like another CB in.

 

Ian Banks , Aaron Mclean, David Hopkin , the list is endless of players with the hype, who were terrlble for us.
