Was the email address written in some sort of secret coding that only supports of a club could read?

I'm just wondering how staff members struggled with contracting Rupp yet people like yourself, who I presume aren't on the payroll, found it remarkably easy?

Can speculate on the reasons for this, but we know that Mr Rupp was taken in by Edin. If the manager of the team was being shat on, hard to see how members of the administrative staff could have had much influence on the majority owner.

Very hard to go over your boss's head. I've done it and had to leave my job subsequently. Stuck to my principles but it cost me a lot of money.

I'm not disputing that. The original post I'm debating was that it was inferred that it was impossible for either Abbott or Mason to contact Stefan Rupp and only Edin had a direct line to him.

That is clearly nonsense, regardless of the implications or consequences.

    Edit ...

Amazed that at least 16 on this forum agree with this

Stuart's still my second all time favourite player, but can you please look at his record, including his stint at Scunthrope before suggesting that his second season would have worked out better if he'd been given longer

Sadly it wouldn't. Stuart's big problem, which will prove to be the same for Ole at Me in U, is that he is very poor at managing a team out of a bad spell, as he lacks the death stare coldness needed to make key changes.

Yes, he's great if everything is going well, but life isn't like that

Best of luck to him for the future

If he had had a chairman with an iota of an idea of what he was doing McCall would have got us into the playoffs again. He has his failings as a manager, who doesn't, but it was a minor miracle he kept us as high as he did that season before his sacking.

Agree, as many of us know there was no love lost between Rahic & Stuart and after losing the players he did after our Wembley appearance Stuart worked wonders keeping up around the top 6 right up to the time Rahic & Stefan sacked him.
Unfortunately Rahic only wanted the one excuse to sack Stuart and he got it during that poor run of form, what really got to Rahic was the fact that Yeovil Town drew Manchester United in the next round of the FA Cup, actually quoting the draw at the fans forum.
We all remember that 21 game run without a win for Phil Parkinson but Julian & Mark backed the guy and he turned or poor form around.
That was never going to happen with Rahic's egoism no matter what success as co-chairman he would never command the hero worship/respect Stuart McCall did from Bradford City fans.

I disagree, but with so many of you been certain of what would have happened - it's made me wonder

That's the wonderful thing about a good, respectful debate I suppose

Wouldn't you think Stefan sacking Rahic, that gives the doubters a pretty good idea something was not right at our club ?.

Don't get me wrong, it was clear McCall had failings, for me his worrying of the opposition clouded his judgement to much. And theres no guarantee that he would have got us to another playoff. Funny, in that second season we were in the playoff for half the season but we the team never felt like a playoff team, always felt like we were riding our luck. But had he have been backed properly by pretty much anyone other than Rahic i think we would have made the playoffs. Alas we'll never know.

That's not in doubt. But it's different from the McCall point. I don't necessarily think that Stuart delivers another play-off (ie momentum) if Edin wasn't

Would we be better off now if Stuart was in charge and Edin left in Summer 2017? Yes. But that doesn't mean we would be where we'd expect to be, i.e. comstant Top 6

All you can do is look at Stuarts history from his second spell and given we were only ever out of the top 6 for a very short spell then it's easy to see why people backed him to get us back there after the wobble.

we wouldn't be a league 2 club now if we hadn't sacked McCall. infact, we might have been Championship.

It's more likely we would have been championship had Parkinson stayed.
