Superb evening with Stuart McCall at the Firepit Bingley last night. Our genial ginger great assisted by James Mason took us all through nigh on three hours of his career. No holes barred and brought us fully into the picture on all matters Edin and how it all fell apart.

But the most revealing thing of all was that Stuart might never have got this far. Had his trial at City not ended in the offer of a two year apprenticeship; you might have found him on the counter at your local Yorkshire Bank ? !

Thankfully unlike some he was spared that ignominy and the rest as we say is history.

A brilliantly insightful evening with Stuart on great form; plenty of stories; colorful characters and City greats recalled. For £10 it was a proper treat.

He rallied the assembled to support the Manager; the players and the club as we strive to return to better days. Flatly refused to be drawn on whether he would one day answer again if the club came calling. Great respect for Gary Bowyer who is the manager of the football club.

Stuart was is and always will be one of our own wherever he or we maybe !

Thank you to Bingley Bantams for making it happen and to Stuart for just being Stuart !

Glad you enjoyed it. Took a hell of a lot of organising but we've had no negative feedback at all so we'll take that!

Quite simply Edin would say one thing then do totally the opposite.

The Dunning-Kruger effect is a type of cognitive bias in which people believe that they are smarter and more capable than they really are. Essentially, low ability people do not possess the skills needed to recognize their own incompetence. Think that just about covers it for super I know footy Edin........:(

This just about covers James Mason. Not pleasant to see him stirring the audience against Edin when he backed him 100% until he was sidelined in favour of Paula Watson. I'll have to ask him about the Secret Bantam twitter plot to destabilise the club next time. And get answers on claims he makes about being the CEO of BCFC and Rochdale? And what TV show he claims to have presented on First Point website.

Surprised more hasn't been spoken about on social media about this event, thought it would be all over it but heard nothing since.

Yeah, it's all Mason's fault and nothing to do with the fact Edin was a clueless, incompetent liar who continuously filled everybody with utter b*llsh*t and ran us into League 2.

Stuart will always be a club legend. He shouldn't come back and manage us however though after two stints already.

This was a fantastic event. Great evening. Stuart was on top form.

The sheer number of crazy Edin stories was mad but not entirely surprising

I disagree. He did fantastically well in his second stint working under that moron, and many believe - myself included - that his sacking was unjust.

If there was an opportunity down the line for Stuart to return and continue the good work he started in League One, then I would be all for it!

But for all of it; he was never anything other than humorously respectful in telling the tale and reminding us that Edin was not there to defend himself. Class is our Stuart.

What a ridiculous angle to approach the subject.

Man employed as mouth piece speaks positively about employer in public, what a scandal.

We can never know what was said behind closed doors, but I doubt it was all rainbows and sunshine. The fact you think presentation is reality is a concern.

That probably came from the fact he was skilled in business. The smartest people I know, know what they know but crucially know what they don't if that makes sense

Mason also had a couple of crazy tidbits about Edin, they didn’t get on.

Infact, they both made it fairly clear that the reason they and Greg chose to stick around so long was because they knew what Edin was capable of if they weren’t there to try and temper him and his madcap ideas.

Then why did it reportedly take a letter to SR to prompt action? Could they not have done more, particularly James in a non playing position and heavily involved with the day to day of the club?

City fans have wanted answers to what went on behind the scenes, and the infamous Luke Hendrie Yeovil game and they got that. Everyone I spoke to thought it was one of the best City nights they'd been too. Stuart did 90% of the talking. He was funny, open and honest. That's why he's our City legend.

All staff at the club during Edin's era were forced to put forward a public front. Stuart, Greg and James were all in the same sinking boat. Stuart had worked miracles keeping the players on board despite Edin's antics.

They have careers and jobs. It's easy to be principled and self-righteous when you're not the one telling your partner you're leaving a salary behind and the family has bills that need paying. Greg had to suffer this torment during a life-threatening illness.

James if you recall, did walk of his own accord. It was his dream job. He had no job to go too. He was in tears when doing his final video. There are not many who would have the guts and moral courage to do that.

The only villain in this affair has no gone and thankfully we're now able to rebuild bridges, re-connect with the fans and start getting City back to where they belong.

    CTID.

Totally agree. Stuart did a fantastic job that some managers fail to achieve even when they've the full backing of a sane and sensible owner.
The fact that Stuart got us as far as he did whilst constantly dealing with an egomaniac who was also a complete bufoon is testament to his abilities.
