I think plenty of lower division clubs have part time goalkeeping coaches, or they have dual roles within the coaching set up. Lee Butler clearly had a bigger role than that of a mere goalkeeping coach - he was often the most vocal member of the coaching staff on a matchday and also did some scouting of opponents.

 

Are you sure they used the term “sacked”?

Sacked implies he did something wrong. Maybe they just came to an agreement and Banks got an appropriate pay off?

Sorry, appreciate my reply was jumbled and not clear. I was meaning to suggest that it was a coincidence that Hopkin replaces Banks after Rhodes arrived. I believe he was going to make this call regardless.

The rest of my response was not meant as I wrote it. I meant that if Hopkin was ONLY replacing because of Rhodes’ arrival then he would have started with the likes of Abbott and Drury.

Having seen the T&A today, this confirms what I meant. Abbott has been pushed back into his scouting role, whilch will allow Hopkin to bring in his own man

I don't hate Edin or anyone come to that, with regards Steve Banks he was our keeping coach as last Tuesday at training now gone, I'd suggest he was sacked, irrelevant of who sacked him.

 

Entitled to your opinion but I find it very coincidental that we are now moving on coaching staff and Hopkin is getting his own In despite Rhodes only been here a week.

Maybe they were waiting for something else to happen, who knows but it all seems coincidental to me

 

I don't even think it's coincidental it makes much more sense that Julian is dealing directly with both David Hopkin and reporting directly to Stefan, what does Edin have to offer, he's made a mess of most things he's been responsible so far.

All we do know is that Edin returned home for a couple of weeks and came back with Rhodes appointed as an advisor. Nobody knows who appointed him and everything else is just guesswork.

However. I do keep asking the same question and nobody seems prepared to answer it.
If the decision came from Rupp, why was it Rahic (supposedly a narcissist) that released the “joint” statement??
