If he had, it would have been more like this:
Rahic said: “David is the man to take us forward - for now - and if he doesn't get the team moving in the right direction, away from the foot of the table, he faces a huge challenge, there is no doubt about that, because we will not all stand right behind him. David is currently scouring the market (lol) to strengthen the squad as injuries continue to trouble us.
“There have been more than a dozen players unavailable for several weeks and this will again be the case when the team faces Gillingham, tomorrow. This does not matter because the transfer committee, of which I am a huge part of (because I know football), have signed shit loads of players to cope with such a scenario.
“If our position does not improve then David will be sacked in January, just as the transfer window is closing so that there will be no money for whoever replaces him to spend. He will get told in no uncertain terms, that the players he wishes to bring to the club are not coming.
“Likewise, David has of course no power to make changes to his backroom team. But, again, this is not a problem because I put that team in place and I know football. Decisions rest with me and I will be fully backed.
“Getting promotion to the championship is of paramount importance (it is part of my 3 year plan) and I will do everything in my power to ensure this season ends on a positive note because I know football.
“We have made a very disappointing start to the season and I am hurting because none of this is my fault, it is the fault of everyone else (oh, and the weather).
“I look forward to attending some games next month (in disguise) and hope you will be there, spending money in the shop and at the bars and kiosks.
“I now need you all to acknowledge that this is all your fault and nothing to do with me, as your support can really help to reinforce my belief that I know football.”

I am less sanguine and less convinced by Rupp's recent statement about supporting Hopkin in the January window.
This is what Rupp and Rahic jointly said last season about supporting McCall in the January window ...
“Stefan (Rupp), Edin (Rahic) and the board of directors would like to place on record their 100 per cent support for Stuart McCall and have every faith that he and his team can turn things around to mount a promotion challenge.
But we all accept that there is a joint responsibility and a pressing need to deliver new players and add fresh assets to the squad to give Stuart the chance to improve things.”
Anybody else spot the similarities between what Stefan has put his name to on two separate occasions? It makes me think excitedly about who we might nearly sign come January! And yes, I really do expect history to be repeating itself.QCFC BANTAM, TRB101, bantamdave41 and 9 others like this. -

The only way a statement by Rupp will be well received(celebrated even), is if he comes out and says he's got shut of his useless minority partner and is bringing someone in who actually knows football to get us out of this mess.

We heard something similar a year ago with regards to backing Stuart if we were in the playoffs. Their actions proved otherwise. I have no reason to believe this now until I see something tangible in January.

Bollocks. Their words have no credibility. And even IF Hopkin is given full control and a blank cheque, there's too much damage to undo in a single window.
As for Injuries, our problems are overstated. Who's out?
Chicksen - no better than Wood. In fact, I'd rather have Wood.
Akpan, who's now back. He's shown nothing.
Jones - Is he going to transform the side? He's no better than Doyle or Miller.
Reeves - he'd be better than Wright that's for sure.
Riley - Been crap and he's only young
Mellor - Been crap
O'Brien - would be good to get him back.
Reeves and O'Brien would be a help in midfield, but it won't transform our god awful defence or terrible attack. We don't have a stack of quality players stuck on the sidelines - just different flavours of the same shite.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... There are very few players whose contracts lapse in January. In practice this means we will either have to pay transfer fees to clubs to prise players away from their current ones or take bit part players who their current clubs want to move on - a bit like what we might want to do with Wright, KP, Jones etc. Failing that, we'll be reliant on taking players on loan from Huddersfield etc and start to come up against the loan constraints .. unless of course Payne, Miller or O'Brien Jr are recalled!
It pains me to say it but I really don't see an obvious and easy solution in January to our current predicamentQCFC BANTAM, CT Bantam, Daisy Mcniven and 4 others like this. -

Im confused by people thinking that the January transfer window will save our season. Anyone who has seen the back of a match day programme or taken a look on google will see that we have a very large squad. Yes we have injuries and yes we have an obvious lack of quality but I suggest our wage budget is already at its limit and we would need to get people of the books before bringing anyone in.
Who do we get rid of and who is going to take them?
Who could go out on loan? Jones, Reeves, Chicksen or Riley.. I doubt it with their injury records and form.
Who can we sell? Id sugest nobody.
People are calling for strikers... We have Doyle, Ball, Miller, Brunker, and Jones. The last two probably being on low wages. Tom Clare not even considered. What 6'2 striker who can hold up the ball and link play with any kind of quality is going think about coming to Bradford City at the moment? We will be competing with clubs with far bettter prospects then our own. I just dont see how we can improve the squad so dramatically.
We could cancel the loan of Seedorf I guess but again, its hardly going to open up wages to bring in someone with enough quality to make a difference to the first team.
Then people need to think about realistically who is going to want to come here? Agents and players will have us at the bottom of the pile. We are in a mess. Players are going to need seriously convincing to come to VP and probably ask for wages that we simply cant afford.
If I was Huddersfield I would be seriously thinking about recalling Payne in Jan. There will be clubs in and around the playoffs who would snap their hand off for him. We are doing absolutely nothing in the way of getting him in the shop window.TallinnBantam, Shipley69, Utters0 and 3 others like this. -
I know they are only words but it’s the best we can hear at this time. At least Rupp has more credibility than Rahic (however low it is). It’s a good message for Hopkin and it might help him stick it out and bring in better support. It’s time. Words are cheap of course and we know it’s actions we need. That’s why although I’m happy to hear this from Rupp, I have just contributed to our fly past.
We need to keep the pressure on him until we see real positive actions.Botswana Bantam, Solentbantam, Klepton and 2 others like this. -

If it's not a statement to say the club is up for sale, I'm not remotely arsed about what he's got to say.

Many have said he doesn’t know football and doesn’t take an interest in, that tells me that he believes his money is safe regardless. He also clearly doesn’t understand because he doesn’t watch or follow football how big and how awful our squad is. The statement is misinformed and is embarrassing.
I liked the bit where he said he was popping over for a couple of games next month. Like he shouldnt be already here sorting out this **** shower. The pair of them are useless.Morley Bantam, loz, Onside and 1 other person like this. -
