Stefan Rupp has spoken....

Saying what we all want to hear, But these, words are from the right man
I do feel more hopeful

 

Its not hard is it Mr Rupp.

Time will tell.... January isn't that far away now. But I, like many fear its too late. Unless we steal some wins in the next 9 weeks.

 

'If our position does not improve then David will be backed in January and there will be money to spend.'

Heard it all before.

 

Shit statement just please the gullible. A vote of confidence is nothing new. Must have taken all of 10 minutes to come up with that.

 

Oh God the dreaded vote of confidence...

 

Apart from the usual rhetoric sticking together blah blah blah, its good to hear David Hopkin will be backed both player wise and backroom staff wise, but as we know talk is cheap lets see what happends and if he is backed with quality signings in January.

 

That statement is almost encouraging Hopkin to fail - it sounds like if he fails to improve things, money will be available to strengthen in January but if we start heading up the table, they won't spend a penny.

 

Well thats it then , no need to worry .

Wonder if he's had a phone call making him aware of the up and coming fly bye.
Nice to know the money man of the two owners will be gracing us with his presence next month, he'll certainly have to buy a programe to keep up with players who's who.

“Likewise, David has of course the power to make changes to his backroom team. But, again, decisions rest with him and he will be fully backed.

If our position does improve (we get out of the bottom 4) does that mean he won't be backed?? Love it how he is putting all the decision on Hopkin, rather than saying the backroom team didn't/hasn't worked we need to change it now rather than later or when Hopkin was appointed.

Amazingly he comes out with his mandatory 3 monthly statement.

 

Possibly but also think that if there is any truth to the rumours that Hopkin is contemplating walking, it might have panicked Rupp into publicly stating his support to try and stop that from happening.

 

To be fair, the backroom decision should be down to Hopkin. What would be the point in R&R getting shut of them if Hopkin didn't have replacements lined up?

 

I know they are only words but it’s the best we can hear at this time. At least Rupp has more credibility than Rahic (however low it is). It’s a good message for Hopkin and it might help him stick it out and bring in better support. It’s time. Words are cheap of course and we know it’s actions we need. That’s why although I’m happy to hear this from Rupp, I have just contributed to our fly past.
We need to keep the pressure on him until we see real positive actions.

If this had been spouted by Mr I know football I’d be saying it was complete bollocks. However the fact that it’s Rupp that is saying this gives me a tad more confidence. I don’t think he’s the sort to stick his neck out with a statement like this and not see that it’s followed through. Please don’t prove me wrong Stefan.

 

We heard something similar a year ago with regards to backing Stuart if we were in the playoffs. Their actions proved otherwise. I have no reason to believe this now until I see something tangible in January.

 

Quite a savvy decision by Rupp to present that statement from him and him alone, maybe he knows if it came from the pair of them, it wouldn't be well received. We can only hope that the penny is finally starting to drop and he is now beginning to see how toxic his business partner really is.

 

Nail on the head , it may be starting to reflect badly on Rupp , adverse publicity maybe starting to raise it's head closer to home .
