As frustrating as it was, absolutely. I adore my away days with my lad, I savour every single one of them win lose or draw, it keeps us close together. Probably won’t be long before he wants to go with his pals instead, naturally. So I savour every game

He can go for me, stuck in the i am in charge and we play my way attitude. it is not working at home ,4 wins from 12 league and cup games, with the players we have available to us is dreadful

Not that I think he should be sacked either. I don’t see the benefit as we’ve tried and failed with numerous managers. I’d give him the whole season regardless.Rcbantam, WilsdenBantam, Storck and 2 others like this. -

Inevitable that at some point the CEO will have to have words with Hughes and ask the question we all want answered "What the hell is going on Mark"
How Hughes reacts to said question will tell everyone all you need to know about our manager and in my opinion that's where the book stops.
Carry on with one lone striker home and away.
Carry on with a midfield partnership devoid of gile and creativity.
And carry on playing out from the back inviting the opposition forward all the time.
These tactics aren't working, change the system instead of this arrogant stubborn attitude and pointless outcome.Craven Koppite, AngryGaz, Onside and 2 others like this. -
I was willing to give Sparkie time to do his magic but after last night I dont think he has any.
The substitutions were 1/2 hour too late then to bring on Pereira and giving our top scorer only 10 mins to rescue something against a team second from bottom is poor decision making.1975citygent, Bronco, Manningham bantam and 2 others like this. -
Interesting thread but for me MHs position isnt even up for debate. Tuesday was a shocker as was Carlisle and Northampton but as others have said, we are still in the mix.
Conditions on Tuesday were always going to be against us due to the way we play but we were well on the way to an 'ugly' win before the ref intervened. These things happen although it does feel we've been on the wrong end of some bad calls too often this season.
Agree that we are lacking in the midfield. A Josh Cullen type loanee could make all the difference so hopefully the clubs recruitment will work some magic this month.
For me, I dont think we will finish below 7th, but this months recruitment will dictate where in the top 7 we'll finish. A year ago the atmosphere around the club was toxic, and MH as a 'name' appointment and the club as a whole turned that around and gave us genuine belief of success this season. Its not perfect and mistakes have been made but had we sold our soul and appointed Mr Evans as some have suggested we should, then I genuinely think it would have ripped the club apart. The toxicity would have reached unprecedented levels the first time we had a wobble so as has been said, we really need to be careful what we wish for!!Allotment Bantam, bantamdave41, Bronco and 2 others like this. -

I agree a lot of his decisions are baffling to say the least, but despite the clear and obvious bad choices that seem to be currently made I'm prepared to grind it out and see where it gets us if we actually give a manager a proper shot at being our clubs manager for a reasonable amount of time. Don't get me wrong here I certainly think he is currently underachieving with the tools available to him, but at the end of the day he is an experienced higher level player / ex manager so he is new to how the khazi works and hopefully he has the experience behind him to quickly adapt and learn to what we currently require. Yes it may fail but end of the day where has hiring and firing got us??

Ah, you can't beat a good old sensationalist headline to grab the attention can you?
Two games in people, don't fall for it. Anyone who is knowledgeable about football knows early form means nothing. Our promotion season to the Premier League started off badly. Weren't we in the bottom three after seven games or something?
Perhaps renaming the thread to, 'worrying early form' or something would be more appropriate? Maybe @Stork writes headlines for the tabloids or something?XCIV_Bantam, Jayteebee, Allotment Bantam and 1 other person like this. -
Got to remember this is a new squad who are gelling.
Similarly, Bristol Rovers were relegation certainties at one point last season and looked awful when we played them at VP, but they went up.
As disappointing as it was yesterday, a meltdown after 2 games from a lot of people is ridiculous. The Evidence, HUDDERSSBANTAM, AberBantam and 1 other person like this. -

Even if we finish 12th I wouldn't be Hughes out, a manager needs time to build something.
