    I said right at the start, he will probably need two seasons. He was starting from scratch. Very difficult to put a promotion squad together within one season. I like him, we would be crazy to sack MH.

    But let’s assume hypothetically that Hughes leaves or is sacked…the only 100% guarantee of getting out of this league immediately is to hire Steve Evans but most on here are too precious to ever let that happen

    Evans, a proper league 2 manager who would have snapped our hands off for the job p*ssing the league at Stevenage, but we went for fame.

    Still, many of those who are firmly anti-Evans were also pro WAGMI, so maybe they'll pipe down in the future now they are seeing their views being so comprehensively shown up.

    Sparkie was poor yesterday, Took to long to see Stockports tactics and it cost us the game, The changes he made at half time to abandon the keeper playing it out from the back and kick or throw it out should have been made after ten minutes after the keeper was caught with the ball and we kept getting caught with it in possession and then giving the ball away

    I hate SE with a passion shared by most, but hats off to him, he's taken a very poor Stevenage side and put them top of the league. He's fat, he's odious and he's thoroughly obnoxious, but he does know how to pull together a league two side, even if it is only for one season.

    No manager would risk changing before half time, it gives him a chance to use the break to tell the players how he wants them to rechange formation. I thought he was right waiting and made the changes the majority would have done. Fact it didn't work was more down to the job Challinor did on us than anything else.

    Top managers change before half time often even after ten minutes. As Fergy always said if you can see it's wrong why would you wait and risk been punished?

    Behave. No manager had ever changed a game plan after 10 minutes unless a sending off or injury forced.it. They might tweak positions slightly if someone is having a bad time but heck you give a player more than 10 minutes before deciding he's having a bad game
