He might well be the most experienced. But his track record isn't the most encouraging.

He was involved in placing the club in Administration on two separate occasion and almost saw the club liquidated. He also promised to only sell the club to somebody who could take it further than he and ML could and look what happened there. Not the best of track records imo.

I'm not convinced that the some of the euphoria expressed on related to his return is justified. Rhodes might well have something extra to offer compared to Rahic but as we're all aware that's probably because the bar has already been set very low indeed!

Being the most experienced and therefore ideal candidate doesn't mean the individual is perfect or beyond failing. Overall, JR was at the helm this club to the greatest moments in my living memory. He also knows very very well the ramifications of Admin and a sharp decline, as well as what it takes to turn it around.

I would argue your criticism of JR as chairman strengthens his position as consultant. Who better, given our current trajectory? Someone who DOESN'T have experience of Admin and turning things round?

I beg to differ. He doesn't just have experience of Administration or of turning things around. He was the one whose actions placed the club in Administration by failing to meet the terms of Admin1. I don't believe anybody turned anything around. The best was the Administrator who at least stabilised things (in Admin 2 at least) but then allowed JR to buy the club at a knock down price. JR was then at the helm as we faced successive relegations. That's not what I'd call experience of turning things around.
