SOC1903 Statement re JR

So we are asked to get behind the club after an abysmal 12 months - very poor leadership and facing relegation as a real possibility. Fan swallow that and accept what we are plaanning / going to do.
TOR are high level we do not need the detail but imho then they should communicate them - but then I suppose as you say we are used to been mushroomed managed.

He is not a CEO - Mr Rhodes is a consultant according to the media. A consultant should be given a high level TOR at the start of his agreement and the finer details worked out of what the aims and objectives are to be and agreed with the client has he becomes familiar with what will be required. Still the club has been run poorly recently so why should we expect good business practices to start now.

 

Do you know that hasn’t happened? Just because it hasn’t been made public doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened.

Absolutely agree it's been gross mismanagement and I hope Rhodes is very blunt and upfront with Edin and Rahic about that. I just don't think the public arena is the place for him to do it.

Do we trust him ? A man who has had a hand in 2 administrations and close to a 3rd ? I despise Rahic but this is like asking which of the McCanns you want to babysit your kids

But what has it to do with you whether it has been a success or not? If Rahic & Rupp believe it to be a success that’s all that matters.

Unless you are offering to pay him a consultancy bonus as well as a fee?

 

This is just rumour spreading and you don’t need to be alarmed.

But, seen as you brought it up, “recent cup runs”? What recent cup run have we had? Certainly nothing since these 2 bought the club.

“Players sold for profit”? Again, what players have we recently sold for a profit? If anything, we have seen monies wasted on players. Look at the fees paid out for the likes of Vincelot, Jones, Jacob Hanson, McCartan, Poleon and Reeves. I don’t expect us to gain a penny back on any of them and certainly not any profit.

The only one that was a success was obviously Wyke. We sold James Hanson and used the money towards getting Wyke. He was the only player we will have sold for more than we paid. That is if we don’t include the fees received for both Hanson and Clarke. But without actually knowing what deal we ended up securing with Sunderland, we don’t know if our overall ‘spend’ is greater or less than we have received.

Even the “low budget for playing staff” hasn’t been proved. Yes, players on high wages have left and been replaced by players on less. But we have been working with more players too, as Rahic continued with his ‘sign em young and sell them on’ policy. As examples, I’m pretty sure that Akpan, Scannell, Doyle and O’Donnell won’t have rocked up for pittance.

 

I trust him implicitly ....tough times ahead but, like I said before, if anyone knows how to hopefully get us out of this hole, Julian does...

 

You deliver to what's agreed and are measured against it - why would you need a bonus over and above a fee? We fans are told by Mr Rhodes to back the club, we were told by Mr Rahic to " believe" so we all just sit here taking the advice and have not to question it or ask what the aims and objectives are. For some it may be acceptable but not myself. If It is just what the owners want them fair enough - they can ignore a lot of the fans- it is there prerogative.

Nothings changed as I understand it, fly bye before the kick off at the Oxford home game on the 24th.

Who's behind it? Who's funding it?
Just another unaccountable pressure group who claim to speak for the majority but controlled by a minority?

Also, isn't it telling that Rupp has turned to Rhodes rather than Lawn or any of the ambassadors for advice?
With Tordoff and Gibb wading in a while back, maybe bringing Rhodes back into the fold is sending a message to some of the old guard

 

Rhodes is the most experienced recent chairman.

That alone makes his input the most valuable.

 

I would guess if Rhodes is giving advice he will be speaking to some of the Ambassadors like he did whilst at the club as chairman
