Have a little bet with you no money involved, but my guess he will be looking to leave our club either via the boot up the backside or his screwing his nose up at lg2. If he doesn’t you can an unreserved apology and an acknowledgment of your undoubted knowledge of football:)

Rahic was in control I doubt he put 25% reduction in there contract. They might be a reduction but doubt it's 25%.

Sorry, yes I do believe Thornton that some players are on 5k plus a week.

A kick up the backside wont count. As that won't bother him or his agent.

It will be down to if he wants to play in div 2 and with Bradford City looking to get straight back up that playing div 2 football on 5k or 3k(if you believe the 25%) won't bother him.

It will just boil down to if he he is happy in and around the City.

The contracted players are in full control not the club. Anyone who thinks other wise is dreaming.

You are right and I don’t think anyone will disagree that the players and their agents hold the cards.

The point being made is that, if City have the clauses in the players’ contracts and we invite them to look for other clubs, why wouldn’t the player consider it, bearing in mind it simply hasn’t worked out for them? Of course they won’t accept less than they’d get for staying. But, as an example, if Lincoln offer him £2.5k a week and City agree to pay up the rest of his reduced contract, why wouldn’t he take it and stay in L1? Yes, it would still cost us £65k to pay off the contract, plus any ‘loyalty’ bonus, but still a darn sight less than £195k.

Anyway, I’m not sure we would want to offload Doyle, but @Faithful Bantam@Faithful Bantam claims he’s definitely going.

Why hasn't it worked out for them?

As a squad no but individually it has as most have played most of the season.

Yes, if a div 1 club is interested then yeah I sure their agent will talk to them but 1) is it a bigger club then Bradford? 2) ambition of the club? 3) wages 4) contract length 5) managers future

It's not as straight forward a club being interested in them.

What you are saying is that we recruited players with no ambition, and are only interested in the money, and don’t give a toss for their future careers? Yet you lambast fans for accepting what is put in front of them? Well it wasn’t the fans that recruited this batch of players who quite frankly are the worst I have seen at VP. It would appear you have different standards for players, than you do for the fans!

With with such a short career and time on the pitch being a big part of attracting attention from the "Big Boys" i would have thought any player with any ambition at all would want to impress
They have already played a massive part in sending their own careers down the drain by not giving it their all Unless they or their agents have a water tight contract in place to make BCFC pay them up
Which the way things have gone wouldn't be a shock
Whichever way you look at it they haven't done themselves any favours

    Wouldn't be surprised at that
Mr Rahic was so tunneled visioned and had unwavering belief he was right and we were championship bound that thought would never has crossed his mind
Mr Rupp can not be totally blameless either he should have been checking such things and at the very least had some input to protect his investment

Some of the players are on more than 5k a week, the obvious ones. But there are a few players who are pretty near to that figure. I expect most of them won’t be here next season.

Scannell, Akpan, Payne, probably Doyle. Wright and Riley won’t be far off.

I bloody well hope that these high earners do in fact believe their own hype and and think that L2 is below them. In turn I hope they manufacture moves for themselves. I pray the first one out of the door is O'Connor. We were told all we needed to know about him by the Aberdeen fans. A bad apple. If we are to keep any of them I hope its Doyle. Hes been played this season isolated and as a target man which he is not. With better supply and a decent partner up front I think he would be a huge asset in L2.

Re Doyle, yeah I’d go along with that. He’s the one that I’d not have a problem keeping. The rest need to go. Scannell won’t have a problem getting a club - he’s missed a lot of the season so his reputation is probably less tarnished. I could see Burton taking Akpan back. I think we’ll find it harder to shift O’Connor, Wright and Riley.

Yeah agree with that, hope Wright might be another who thinks hes too good for L2. Let's hope he might be tempted to head back to Gillingham, apparently the Gills fans were gutted when he left! Riley just hasn't had a look in under any of the managers weve had this season, and there must be a reason for that, at such a young age he must be thinking he needs a move for the sake of his career as it's not gonna happen here. Re O'Connor, yeah I can see him being here too. Lets hope were both wrong on this one :sob::sob::sob:

I don't mind Wright or Doyle staying myself. I think with leaders around them that they will do well.

Scanner will get another club but a lot depends on his wages and if he wants to go.

Doubt Burton will now pay Akpan's increased wages.

First out of the door would be O'Connor for me as we urgently need 2 quality CB's and O'Connor staying will hammer us getting the quality we need going forward. However, it's up to him if he stays or goes not the club.

What have you seen either previously or since joining us, that makes you think there’s a player in Wright?

Reports from his previous clubs supporters weren’t exactly glowing and we’ve seen with our own eyes that he’d be more suited to playing for Robbie Williams soccer aid team, than any professional outfit.

He was an expensive mistake who we should look to move on if we can. He’s not a patch on any of the Parky midfielders who were probably earning half his salary.
