Hot water in the gents or not ?.

 

If you choose to loiter around the Gents ....you'll get in hot water....

 

Parky looked for players with a strong mentality. We had a group of leaders where if one or two were injured there was more grit in the group. I don’t get that feeling from the current squad.
There seemed much togetherness during the good run but all teams experience issues with form and injuries in a season and promotion teams couple ability with how they fight when they are up against it. How they scrape a point when behind with 2 minutes to go. How they turn around going behind into a win. Since Rahic meddled we’ve experienced teams that don’t have that core fundamental, sides that folded meekly and although the current team haven’t been as bad as the league one relegation season side, they haven’t been able to meet adversity and come out on top anywhere near enough. Hopefully Turnbull will be able to identify new players who can not only play and progress city forwards again but also have the necessary grit to deliver when it’s difficult and not just when things are going well.
I don’t see that quality in much of what we have in the club presently.

 

Apart from Mcfarland, Cherry & Kamara. Now what do they all have in common apart from being player managers ? Shame that seems to be a thing of the past

I think Sparks has the right ideas but the whole non playing side is full of rookies. I’m expecting him to make a few mistakes before hopefully getting it right. One thing I’d like to see and mentioned numerous times by Kiwomya is a higher intensity warm up. We’ve started games far too slowly and often not until half time.

 

It might sound like a daft idea but I’d like City to bring in Kiwomya as conditioning/ fitness coach. He evidently did a great job of it at Town a few years ago and is now in charge of L**ds Elite junior set up. He obviously knows his stuff when it comes to training & fitness, that together with his enthusiasm and obvious love for City could be a great addition to the coaching staff! Imagine doing a beep test with Andy screaming in your ear about how much it means to play for City......
And it gets him off the radio!!

 

I asked a similar question a while ago as you say the latest I could find was him working for Leeds, would the budget stretch to bringing him back, its certainly worth a look at.

Some of this content really does illustrate how far we're behind the times, even at this level. Its depressing. 'Big club'. Forget that - there's not one aspect of what we do that aligns to big club thinking.

 

Penny pinching and corner cutting. Was it Bowyer that was given a choice of either bringing in his own backroom staff or bringing in an extra player or two?

 

I don't know, but I'll bet that all this stuff is the sort of stuff Grayson demanded be put right.

 

You will be pleased that they are working to put that right then

 

And then in 12 months or 2 years we'll have another article about the next set of changes needed to catch up on what other clubs have done in the meantime. Do you think other clubs are going to be standing still this summer?

 

As anybody knows who have been to these clubs over the years the club are not behind the majority of them in this league certainly nothing that can’t be put right. The improvements made in the summer will give us an edge
