I don't need to read something again, just answer the question. Sparks has admitted we are behind clubs in our own division in various guises, hence the reason he's trying to improve the situation.

He does say all the right things and he looks to have the right attitude. So this isn't aimed at him - I've just lost interest in anything the club has to say now. I've heard it all so many times before. Every year at about this time we beat the same drum around what's going to be put right. 'We're going to do X,Y and Z'. We talk the talk and never walk the walk. All I'm interest in now, is whether we put together a properly competitive side that challenges the top 3. That's it, pure and simple.

We're behind many clubs in many ways. Sparks himself is saying it and has said it before. He's been quite candid about it, so fair play to him. Of course it can be put right - we just seem completely inept at righting wrongs, which is why we hang around the bottom half of the arse end of professional football in this country.

Yes, Sparks does say the right things and I've not heard him say anything which many fans would disagree with. A cynic might well say that some of his recent statements might be connected to season tickets going on sale shortly! He knows how to talk a good talk.

That's sort of encouraging but the real test for him and our club is whether Sparks' fine words are converted into the improvements we all know are necessary for the club to progress in the leagues. Some of those changes will cost money (more so if ticket sales fall short of expectations) which might mean the owner dipping into his pockets in the short term. Let's see whether Sparks can deliver on that.

He has constantly talked about giving us an edge next season. He mentioned several teams have GPS in the dug out which means that plenty don’t which will give us an edge. An improvement in fitness and conditioning is way overdue that will give us an edge as well. To say we are miles behind the majority of league two teams is not true

In fairness, he has so far done what he has said he would do so we have to do what we always do. Get behind him and see what happens. We always suffer for what seems an eternity but then... something good happens. If that turns out to be next season, hopefully we will have the infrastructure to make good in div 1. Accrington have shown what a well run club can do.

I know someone who has seen Bradford City and has worked at other clubs from the conference to championship, they have been less than complimentary about Bradford City behind the scenes. Shambles is a polite way of how they described it three years ago and last time we spoke it wasn’t much more positive.

Times move on and sports science is advancing quickly. City need to get with the times or continue to fall behind.

We can blame Rahic for a lot of things but for it to take this long to realise we are behind on sports science for one since Parky left is criminal. So poor

Rahic was a disaster, but he’s also been overplayed as the ‘get out jail’ card for excusing why we continue to be so poor across so many areas.

Rahic has been gone more than two years and I think there is only RoD, AOC and Wood left from his era. He was at City for 31 months and has been gone 28 months. To suggest his influence still hangs over the club’s day to day business is wrong. Fitness, recruitment, sports science, coaching, players. Rahic can have an influence over none of those and cannot be blamed for any shortcomings in those areas. The owner and the previous interim and current CEOs have had ample time to repair any damage. Tellingly for me, it’s the current CEO making the effort.
The only areas I see Rahic’s legacy still influencing the club are probably commercial relationships with sponsors where trust may have been broken, finances and perhaps a lack of skilled back office staff who he drove away.
I expect somebody to tell me other wise but trying to blame Rahic or Richmond is like the Tories saying something needs to be done about the criminal justice system when they have been in power a decade or more.

Was that since Rahic left, as most would understand we were a basket case with him at the helm.

Both Dave, I think word travels in the game and their impressions of the club during Edin’s summer of madness wasn’t great and they can’t understand why we’re in league two with such luminaries as FGR, Barrow and Harrogate.

Did you know that Tadcaster who are what, three, four leagues beneath us, have analysts who show the players on a big screen in the dressing room at half time during games, detailed information about where they've been keeping/losing possession; their positioning throughout the half and what impact they've been making on the game thus far as individuals in their roles. Do our players get that at half time? I have no idea. Does anyone know?

    Clearly not.

We do have a big bag of orange segments though.

If only that was true about us paying peanuts. I believe some of our players like Anthony O,Conner and Hope Apkan are and we’re on approaching £4000 per week. The likes of Donaldson and Vaughan will have been highly paid as well.

As we all know Rahic was an unmitigated disaster at this club and he wasn't alone our previous acting CEO must also share some responsibility for past events with his negative attitude and reappointing Stuart for the umpteenth time but Rahic seems to be the hub of everyone's anger
However both are gone and had absolutely no effect on why we failed to gain points to qualify for the play offs this season miraculously we were in a position to push on but for some reason we didn't
It's time to look forward with fresh ideas hopefully Mr Sparks is the man to do this but still has to prove himself
I agree with him we are a way behind a good few teams in this shocking league and his job is not an easy one whether he gets fed up or is poached by another club has to be a distinct possibility
Fans are getting restless many have already found alternative things to do on a match day, summer recruitment and offloading the dross under a progressive management is a must or the signs look very ominous

You may be right, I honestly dunno but a poster on here who is probably better placed than any of us to get insider knowledge insists we have been set back at least 5 years.
