Serious Changes

I would be interested to know what some fans have found to do on a Saturday afternoon as an alternative during the pandemic?

 

Don’t worry people will be back in numbers once things return to normal. Whether that will be in time for August I don’t know

Change what you like Ryan, but the only serious change that will give us any chance of promotion is to move T&S back to the youth set up and bring in a new manager who appreciates the need for a midfield leader who can personally change a game with his leadership.

As long as we have no onfield sergeant major we are going nowhere.

 

Is that like the last 12 out of 13 managers then . Stick with these two who have done a great job overall

Let's revisit that in December when we are bottom half of the khazi league again and see how may of the "im happy to have a club to support" band are still happy.

 

I've watched a few games on iFollow. I much prefer it to going down to VP. You can have a beer, cosy indoors and if the game is particularly poor you can just switch off. I'm in no rush to get back to VP whatsoever.

Other Saturdays, we've gone out as a family for a nice walk with the dogs. Plenty of lovely walking spots within 10 miles or so of Bradford.

Them comments were made before the £3mil windfall for McBurnie. If Rupp was so desperate to make it up to the club then why has that money disappeared down a famous Rhodes style deficit hole and not being used to right the wrongs? Fans are sick of excuses, well most anyway. Look at what went on at Coventry behind the scenes, it made Rahic look child’s play and they went from league 2 to the championship without a ground and barely a fan. No excuses there, just competent people in the right areas.

 

Don’t often disagree with you but can’t agree with you on iFollow. It’s well meaning but an appalling product tbh, and if we aren’t allowed back in stadiums next season it’ll be a no from me this time there’s no substitute for live football. This has been my least enjoyable season ever, not just from a City fan point of view but watching neutral games as well. Football is simply garbage without fans.

 

I'm gonna be honest mate I have little interest in TV football. I've missed out on a year of enjoying a great day out at the football, ironically usually only spoilt by the footy itself.

 

That's partially answered my question. Bantamsteve point was some fans have found better things to do than watch City, ifollow is still watching City and you still have to pay for it.

 

Could not agree more. No ifollow for me to watch glorified training sessions in empty stadiums. I ditched Sky Sports and BT sports. It would be bad enough watching your own team on tv/laptop in empty stadiums, nevermind watching teams as a neutral

 

The VP experience is even worse than iFollow though. Crap produce, crap atmosphere, crap facility. IFollow is crap too, but at least you can have a drink to numb the pain.

There's no way I'm watching us sober.

 

Yeah that's all fair enough tbh. My iFollow point was less about endorsing the product, and more about a sense of 'if I'm going to watch shit, I'd rather be comfortable doing it'.

What I really want is a quality side to watch and a decent VP experience again. I just don't believe we're going to get it any time soon.

 

Agree on the last point sadly it’s down to the club to deliver an entertaining product which will engage fans, something which has been a constant failure for 4 seasons on the trot. Until they prove otherwise I don’t hold out much hope either. But as Rogered says it’s about far more than the 90 minutes and that often ruins the day, but I miss a good day out on a Saturday more than anything.

 

Maybe that's partly why you've been extra down this season?

 

How do we know what gives us the best chance though? It's just a guess.

I don't know if Trueman and Sellars are the best option available or the worst option available, but they're probably somewhere in the middle with the rest of the managers willing to come to us in League Two.

I don't want us to waste another season, we need to get promoted without fail, and the Summer is going to be massive. It's going to decide whether it's possible or not. But I think you're day dreaming if you think Ryan Sparks is going to appoint somebody miles better than these two, or someone who is definitely going to bring success.

Until they've had the chance to sign players for their suited system, and several of them, then we don't know what them or their tactics are really capable of. We got a glimpse of a good run of results with minimal changes to the line up in January; but we've since seen some of these lads just aren't fit for what they're trying to do. That we pinned all our hopes on Clayton miraculously replacing Cooke as an attacking midfielder showed just how weak we really were - but that isn't actually their fault, and it actually did work for a couple of games when Clayton was ace.

Sorry, but I think we just have to gamble with T&S. If Ryan Sparks wants to take an even bigger gamble on a replacement, on his head be it - but he can't afford to get that one wrong. Sticking with Trueman and Sellars is definitely the safer option for him, and possibly for us.

 

Well I don't think T & S can change their style. Our football is BORING!

For me I would rather us get Wellens or someone like that and go for it.

T & S will be sacked by Christmas if they stay. All wasting our time.
