The thing that I want to see happen in the summer is an overhaul of the fitness and medical department the number of serious soft tissue injuries is way more than it should be and the length of recuperation. Also we don’t seem to have coped as well as some clubs with the amount of fixtures which makes you wonder about the general fitness.

We’ve been dying a slow death for 4 years now, this summer is the season to gut the place if needed we need better.

The only areas I see Rahic’s legacy still influencing the club are probably commercial relationships with sponsors where trust may have been broken, finances and perhaps a lack of skilled back office staff who he drove away.
I expect somebody to tell me other wise but trying to blame Rahic or Richmond is like the Tories saying something needs to be done about the criminal justice system when they have been in power a decade or more.Kevin1954, bantamdave41, WilsdenBantam and 7 others like this. -

It might sound like a daft idea but I’d like City to bring in Kiwomya as conditioning/ fitness coach. He evidently did a great job of it at Town a few years ago and is now in charge of L**ds Elite junior set up. He obviously knows his stuff when it comes to training & fitness, that together with his enthusiasm and obvious love for City could be a great addition to the coaching staff! Imagine doing a beep test with Andy screaming in your ear about how much it means to play for City......
And it gets him off the radio!!Bantam Boy, Silverbantam, Budgie and 6 others like this. -

Wonder if one of the changes is around recruitment so we don’t sign people and then move them on again within 6 months

That's sort of encouraging but the real test for him and our club is whether Sparks' fine words are converted into the improvements we all know are necessary for the club to progress in the leagues. Some of those changes will cost money (more so if ticket sales fall short of expectations) which might mean the owner dipping into his pockets in the short term. Let's see whether Sparks can deliver on that.bantamdave41, WilsdenBantam, Fordy117 and 5 others like this. -

If I were Ryan Sparks right now...........
Dear European Super League,
I understand that you are short of English representation for your new footballing venture.
I would be most interested to discuss the possibility of my club Bradford City entering as an English representative. I firmly believe we have a truly unique offering which would be of great interest to both yourself and the European teams involved.
1) given the choice of playing Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan every week over Barrow, Grimsby & Harrogate Town I’m confident 100% of our fan base would be on board
2) As above the fans and club would not mind in the slightest being expelled from our current league, in fact most would welcome it.
3) Non of our players will worry about the threat of not being able to represent England.
4) We don’t mind loosing most games (we already do). I understand that English people aren’t too popular in Europe at the moment. We can help cure the pain felt by Brexit by getting hammered every week.
5) You are also struggling for a German team, our Chairman can help with contacts, I believe he has a Serbian business associate with close ties to a team in Stuttgart.
I hope to speak to you soon,
Best Regards,

Never bring a player back who's played for us before. He was shit then and the same now.

Hopefully the vast majority (if not all) those we know and have spent so many years with made it through this pandemic and will be back at VP with the rest of us. We can but hope, mate.Jayteebee, Hoochy-Min, loz and 3 others like this. -
Maybe you are right they will return for the match day experience myself included the Saturday ritual (full English breakfast, various pubs pre and post match, good natured banter with opposition fans, a meal before returning home) is what I class as match day experience away days even better, the 90 odd minutes on the pitch is a different thing and judging by the last few matches on I follow has been pretty turgid to say the least (Bowyer ball at its best/worst) What the club do during the summer is crucial, yes I follow is sterile I noticed in a couple of your posts you haven't subscribed but given the choice of watching our performances of late in your own home or a freezing cold Valley Parade Tuesday night is not a difficult decisionMike Hunt, bantamdave41, Hoochy-Min and 3 others like this. -
Oh and never ever bring back an ex player as manager. Another rule. I'm enforcing this one
