Fine. But until those areas exist the selfish arseholes should sit the *@?$ down.

I'm sure Celtic/ Rangers fans would never miss-behave in seated areas.
I remember SMc's testamonial at VP few years back. Of the 10k Rangers fans, i don't think a single one was sat down.

Yet the Club/Council/Safety Team never thought it was appropriate to close sections of the ground ?

I'd back safe standing areas tbh. Though looking at the anfield kop last night, they already have it.

Shrewsbury tweeted today that they're installing their safe standing rail seats in may. They need to make sure they're done before next season as if they go up they won't be allowed to do it!

Not for me certainly not the lower Kop. If it was to happen a small area like the lower Dallas stand might suit

Interesting on the Shrews position, does that suggest that if you have them in and then go up to Championship, you can keep them?

If they do it and get promoted they will then have to remove them within 3 years of promotion.

Didn't know that. I just thought you could keep them if you went up but weren't allowed to install them from scratch

Why wouldn't you want safe standing? Those that want to sit can sit, those that stand can stand.

I have no problem with safe standing as long as it is not in football stadiums :)

If a solution could be found that was financially acceptable and a suitable location, then I don't see what the real issue is. It's is annoying when folk stand and don't give a toss about others. In an ideal world they would learn something called consideration of others. But seems many are grown men, there appears little hope of that happening any time soon. But if a designated area is created let them all go there as an alternative solution. As @Storck@Storck alluded to, I agree that it could be part or completely financed by the ticket price in that area for a given length of time until it is paid off, i wouldn't have a massive issue with that. I don't stand at games and block peoples view, but if a safe standing area was provided on match days i think that is where i would choose to go if i didn't have my kids with me.

However, we could probably do with sorting the pitch out first.

After my experience of the play off finals at Wembley where I ended up among the City fans who had decided "you don't go to Wembley to sit down" and had to stand up to watch the game I do not want safe standing. After half an hour I had to sit down to give my knees and feet a rest thereby missing whatever was going on in the game until I felt okay to stand back up. No standing for me please.

Well surely then safe standing WOULD be a good idea? People like yourself who want to sit down will do so without anyone around you standing and blocking your view as they will be all in the safe standing area.

Shrewsbury was crowd funded. Not sure new steps would be necessary as the rail seating would have a similar footprint to the existing seating. I'm sure the likes of K block bantams would try and raise funds too
