Nor me, but there could come a point where we wouldn't be given a choice.

You say it is working at Celtic but since they introduced it they have had to close the area a few times due to behaviour issues with those in the area

That statement was before the petition reached the 100k threshold, hence triggering a possible forthcoming parliamentary debate.

Quote from today's BBC article :

Sports Minister Tracey Crouch said she was "grateful" for fans "expressing their views on this issue".

"This will now give me the opportunity to discuss at length the nuances and complexities of sports ground safety in Parliament, if and when the Petitions Committee agree to it being debated," she added.

Agree, but not sure how Premiership clubs could make them sit down, a difficult one.

Hadn't, heard that, the Liverpool fans seemed to think it was a good idea when they went to visit it.

It is only debated in Westminster Hall, Rather than in the House of Commons. The debates are usually poorly attended and have no real influence on things

It will be interesting to see what time the hold that debate, I think when they held one with regards to the petition about "exiting the EU now without an agreement" it was held around 10pm midweek, it certainly won't be a major even with most of the PMs in attendance.

The fact that it happened in the safe standing area.

Did they have to close the area when it was seated?

It will be a Monday afternoon, around 3-4 for 3 hours in Westminster Hall, not in the House of Commons. That is the time allocated for the debates from the petitions.

The other benefit of having designated standing areas is that those who choose to sit can do without their view being obstructed.

I remember last season's play off final and the scuffles breaking out between our groups of our own fans because some wanted to stand.

Thats the same logic as blaming Hillsborough on terracing and not bent coppers/ criminal negligence by the authorities.

That's because some people are selfish arseholes who don't care that they block the view of children and people behind them.

So you are saying it was nothing to do with the safe standing even though the safety team after looking at all the evidence decided it was?

Fundamentally it is not illegal to stand in a football ground, the law states that every spectator must have a seat, not that they must sit in it. It is however against ground regulations.
In theory a club can introduce an area where spectators are not required to sit, this would require a change in the ground regulations though.

Surely more logical to keep all the 'arseholes' in a designated area so they can't obstruct others.

So who is paying for all the seats getting ripped out, along with the floor. Then new concrete steps put in and the new barrier seats?
