Well I like to wait and see how McCall does until the end of the season before making judgement each to their own I suppose. I will leave you to your acerbic comments based on your assessments from the past. I just want our club to do well, so I will wishing the manager well; of course I will criticise if I feel it is warranted but it will be based on the here and now

If he cannot get us promoted then he does leave, and I think that will be it. However, there is masses of water to flow under the bridge. McCall is not known for lack of honesty, and would normally be the first to admit his own faults and mistakes, but I bet he won’t be as fast as you.

In that unlikely scenario I would agree.

The only funny thing about the goal we conceded was McCall shaking his head in despair even more then we did. I actually think this Version 3.0 is better for this, he's basically taking no crap - it's probably great for him to be able to hit out as what can the players who don't like it do, it's not as though any of them have been successful

Maybe this side of McCall needs to come out more. A bit more of a hardedge. He's always been honest, a few home truths wouldn't hurt this lot we have now.

I actually agreed with his 2018 sacking, but actually only because clearly he had a toxic relationship with Rahic and at that stage the latter was going nowhere, so I get where you're coming from up to a point

However, with that wonderful benefit of hindsight, we can see what a great job he did in the play-off final season - we've come nowhere near since and played far better than we did in the last season under Parky.

Indeed, my only criticism of that season is that is was us who should have been second, as we were virtually everybody's second favourite L1 team - such was the quality of football we played at time. And he certainly should have managed the final better

He then sleepwalks (any manager who voluntary goes to work for Peter Swann after putting up with Rahic for two years, is clearly not thinking clearly) into the Scunthorpe job a role he should never had taken

I think he seems a bit more ruthless and sharp. He doesn't bale the players out. For instance, I didn't think we were that bad against Grimsby, but he was highly critical and made good sense. There was no excuse making like we had in that painful season of 08/09 around this time

I believe the club needs resetting back on an even keel and actually Bowyer played a part. At this stage, we don't need some kind of radical reworking, i.e. a Nathan Jones long term project - not when we should be competitive enough until the end of next season to get promotion

I think it is. As I just said, I was surprised about how sharp he was about the Grimsby performance - it could have been the classic Pep/Wenger "the boys were exceptional" bull (witness Pep when they lost to Liverpool, with a defensive performance on par with ours at Newport!!). But no, McCall told it straight - really we didn't deserve any more. For him, this is refreshing
