hmm, I was more asking for clarification on the use of a pejorative term that seems to be present only to have a dig at McCall.

Watched Stu quite a bit today during play.

He is one frustrated guy. Kicking every ball. Spinning round in anguish as another simple passage of play is disrupted by a completely obscure footballing decision.
    For example

First half AOC does some neat work down the main stand side. Gets a nice bit of open space in front of him. Connolly is off. we look to the skies to see the ball sailing towards Connolly. No instead AOC kicks the ball short to their midfielder. Stu gesticulates to AOC that he should have hit it over to Connolly. Everyone in the ground could see what was needed. Yet AOC decided that the better option was to ignore Connollys run. Madness.

Mellor is the same. How many times is he out of position or loses possession?

Akpan is the least shit of the available fit midfielders. I would imagine Cooke starts if fit at Salford.

    Total b%ll%cks.

The manager 'needs to' work with the kind of players he wants. Not the kind of players that were left behind after a disastrous spell of transfers/management.

That one of your classics " Adopt a style of play to suit the players you have" I believe that got our last manager the sack, Bowyer still had players from the previous regime and struggled to get any sort of consistent performances from them, he had long term injuries that didn't help but many on here said we were punching above our weight and unfortunatly these players cost him his job, the last 10/12 games were dire, we were there or there about because this league is much of a much, we took 4 points ( we should have had 6) from the team that looks like they will finish as Champions.
As a new manager you have to asses the players you have at your disposal and quicky decide what there capabilities are with regards playing " your way" select the ones you believe are capable and go with them, as they train you see those capable of adjusting and those that aren't.
Play to players strength, hilarious @Feats Don't Fail Me Now@Feats Don't Fail Me Now.
Your last line say it all, and you say you have no agenda.

    Bronco,

Why do you keep saying I have no agenda? Are you really that slow on the pick up?

I have never hidden my views, agenda, if you wish.

So for Broncos sake let me go through this one more time (this is getting boring).

I do not believe McCall is anything other than a poor to, at best, average manager.

Other than his last name being McCall he wouldn’t have got within a hundred miles of the City job with his resume.

We appointed him without interviewing anyone else. What club does that? Why have we done that?

Is his managerial record so phenomenal that it really wasn’t worth considering anyone else? Was it?

Was his appointment the action of a progressive, forward thinking, club?

His appointment will end up causing a huge division in the club when he is fired or resigns 18 months down the line.

Overall a lazy, get out of jail, appointment where both parties know, short term, they won’t be blamed for any downturn and where one party knows he has a permanent ‘Get out of gaol free’. card. An appointment that is not moving the club forward but is a backward looking move aimed at placating and currying favour with supporters.

Bronco. Is that simple enough for you? Can I make it any clearer? Do I need to send this out on a weekly basis? Maybe you can print this out and keep it close (to your heart) so you don’t have to ask again about my agenda.

Or maybe that last line, like the appointment of McCall, was just plain lazy.

Thank you, I am totally enlightened now. So even if McCall manages to get us out of this division either this season or next, he will still be a poor manager or at best average? Asking for a friend.

Not once have you addressed my comments with refards your "adapt to the players you have" comment, theres a surprise.
You have tried to defend your comment, that is unfortunatly you do put out every week with regards McCall.
So go back and address my original reply and stop trying to bluff your way out of a loaded comment.

    Onside,

You are asking me ‘If’ which surely works both ways. If he fails to get us promoted will he confirmed as a poor manager? Would you then agree with my statement?

But I am not considering ‘ifs and maybes’ or for that matter shouldas, wouldas or even couldas.

My opinion, and that is what it is, is based on my reading of his overall managerial record to date.

Jeez you people are hard work. Is this why Bradford (place, sporting clubs and people) is the mess it is?

I will take that as a no then. Unlike you I will judge McCall at the end of this season (interim) end of next season,(total) and whether we should give him an extension or say goodbye. The past cannot be altered, but you can use it to learn rather than predict future based on the past. I will leave it there, and I will try and not use sarcasm when discussing issues with you.

You can look at the histories of the majority of the top managers and at some stage during their careers they have had bad times, and in many cases the sack, there very few who haven't, certainly managing in the lower leagues.

McCall is lucky to have another go after 5 seasons without ultimate success.(Bowyer got Blackpool promoted after one attempt) however he is back and made a decent start so let’s hope this time being a little bit older and a bit wiser and brings the success we all crave. It will be interesting to see what his signings do apparently Black has been watching a lot of football in recent months hopefully one or two have been identified

He does look a frustrated figure at times. Not surprising when watching some of the stupid things they do. What about the throw in the first half where they get the ball on the edge of our box and nearly score. Its really simple stuff that they seem incapable of grasping.i'm pretty sure McCall doesn't tell them to throw the ball to them.

You're behaving like people are judging him on 5 games.

He's been here twice before and been a manager for 13 years!

The tongue in cheek thread about him being sacked is obviously and intentionally ludicrous but let's not make out that there isn't enough info out there to make a judgement. He hasn't been reborn in the last 6 weeks.

So in your judgement you don’t allow for learning to take place?

It came through in his interview afterwards. When asked about BRE's goal, the interviewer mentioned that Stuart had been telling him to get on the back post more for corners. Stuart's reply.. 'yeah and what does he then do? Keeps going to the near post!!'

Of course but it's not assumed and it doesn't wipe the slate clean. He might have learnt some new tricks since Scunthorpe but he hasn't been reincarnated!

If we reappointed Peter Jackson I'd be less excited than if we appointed Klopp. Their previous achievement effect the judgement, they wouldn't come as equals. I don't think that needs pointing out. Judgement from previous work, whether that's good or bad will obviously effect how an individual is viewed.
