Sack the manager

How would you set up with the players at Bowyer's disposal since Doyle returned to get the best from him ?.

It's not a matter of me being happy with him I believe he will get us promoted and if he does what we are having to put up with this season is IMO worth it, without doubt if he doesn't then Stefan & Julian might sack him, but why not give him a 12 month rolling contract if that was going to be the case.

 

I’ve not posted on this because I find it harsh that so called fans are calling for bowyers head . One we are 5th granted in a poor league but still well in the promotion race . Two I agree the football is not the most entertaining but we have lost 5 games all season .Three why would we want to go through sacking another manager and go through the upheaval that brings yes sometimes I have wondered about some of the decisions from bowyer but at the end of the day he puts a team of so called higher league player out and they don’t perform the manager can only do so much once on the pitch it’s down to the players. Time to get behind the lads and the manager and push us on to promotion no mater what ever way it’s achieved auto or playoffs . Que a load of dislikes

 

I think on paper Bowyer has signed some quality player's mainly from the division above but up to now he can't get a decent tune out of them. He had success at Blackpool but perhaps that was down to his assistant and the coaching setup perhaps City's set up is much inferior and probably is ,thats the problem he may be a good manager but not very good as coach and motivater.

 

Really no idea I’m not the manager, Bowyer has built a squad so it’s his job and if it’s found lacking (drawing a lot) then perhaps he hasn’t signed the right players. It’s a shambles serving up this dross week after week, to an extent doesn’t matter who is played they look bereft of ideas and leadership.

 

You don't have to be the manager to say what players and formation in your opinion would get the best out of Doyle.

 

it’s pretty immaterial what formation i would pick, I would say it’s not the formation it’s the mindset that’s the problem, it’s the application. no drive from midfield or desire to get in the box. I’m not getting into nit picky shite. It not just Doyle that’s not getting service, Vaughan is being used as a target for long balls and it’s not working either. Vaughan would be a revelation at Swindon too.

A low number of attempts on goal is par for the course - Unfortunately it’s Bore-yers signature rubbish brand of football.

 

I'd say it's less about formation and more about the roles the players have been asked to play since preseason.

Swindon seemed to play a 4-5-1/4-3-3 when they thrashed Cambridge 4-0, Doyle only scored 1 that day, but they named five players Soccerbase considers 'forwards' so you can imagine how many players they had with an attacking mentality.

And that's the thing - mentality.

Radio Leeds are trying to dress it up by saying Bowyer is stood on the sidelines imploring his players to pass forward. FORWARD FFS! They're not passing backwards because they're disobedient, we have a squad of players afraid to take chances because they've had it hammered home all season that they're not allowed to make defensive mistakes. They get hammered on the radio by Gary every time they give a goal away.

Ironically, these backwards and sideways passes seem to give the ball away just as often as the forward ones...

Bottom line: it's a season's worth of work to instil that mindset, and now it's instilled it's not so easy to undo.

Bowyer could start by naming more attack minded players, but we've seen how desperate he is to keep Shay benched, uses Connolly sparingly, and prefers to play 7 defensive players.

 

If we lose today then he needs to go, this is dreadful and you can’t see it changing.

It's a disgrace, at last it's all over, we have 5 days to get in a new manager/coach and 6 professional footballers.....

 

Bowyer out. I'd do it at half time.

 

No ifs, No buts, Mr.Monotone and his useless assistant HAVE to go.
ASAP.

Actually a Bowyer supporter but given the performances over the past month and in particular last week and the first half today I would have to say that his position has to be under scrutiny.

Why? Not just results but the attitude. No drive, no commitment, second to everything, poor, defensive minded set up.... very, very worrying.

What must Doyle be thinking?

 

Lost fans, lost players, lost his marbles. Get rid.
